What are you? People say that to get a head in life you should be confident enough to think that you have an edge over other people. I know some of my friends are like this, who became the top of their class despite growing up in a province just like me. Is it really better to think your better than the rest? or is it better to acknowledge that someone is really better out there, so I am contented with where i am?

hi,
for me, i think should both of them possess to a person,we should be humble and of course to be a confident,be confident in the way that there's no people will feel bad for you,and be humble in the way that they can still trust you.

I know we really have to be confident at times but not to the point of bragging about our own self. Proud is different from being confident. At all times, it is better to be humble than to be confident. If you are really good and smart, it will show outside and they will praise you for that, no need to tell the world that you are intelligent.

I guess it depends on how you look at it. I personally think they both are pretty darn important. I think in different circumstances one would be more fitting. One should be humble when dealing with sensitive situations. Or comforting a friend in a delicate state. But confidence goes a long way as well. I do think that it helps you be success full in the different areas of your life, school, work, relationships. Even shopping or any other thing that you would be dealing with others. It makes a better impression on others. Most people gravitate to confident people. I see myself as both actually, usually a bit more confident. however I dont see it as being better than anyone. Just confident in my abilities.
