My bf is currently job hunting. he has a job by the way, but he just wants out and find a better one with a better paying job too. he was called to 2 of those he applied to and the other one has even gave him the option to choose which time of the day he wants to go to have the interview... the HR told him to choose between 8am to 4pm and its up to him.
what do you think? is there any significance in this? would they consider his choice of time of the day? what do you think?
would it be a positive signal to them if my bf choose the morning slot than in the afternoon? do you think there is any trick in this or not at all and i am just thinking too much? HAHA
thank you everyone!! =)

Ideally it should be in the forenoon. I hope by now he would have had the interview. Hope he has come out successful. have a good day.

I am not a morning person and I think best when I've already had my lunch. So, for me 1-2 pm would be best. But that's just me. Some employers schedule a morning meeting just to check if you can come on time because it's usually in the morning when people get late. But actually, any time would be good for an interview as long as the interviewee is prepared.

Well this may be a test but I am not really sure. If it is a test it's an unfair one because perhaps your bf couldn't make it until the afternoon? Who is to say? Well I would say the morning slot is better because it does show dedication and the desire to get in and get interviewed / potentially hired. If I were him I'd choose anywhere from 9:00 to 9:30, it gives the interviewers an hour after they get in to get settled in, as I wouldn't want to catch them right when they get in as they may be cranky!

I think it would depend on what your boyfriend is like. If he gets very nervous about interviews then it might be better for him to have it as early as possible in the day so that he could get it over and done with before he has too much time to worry about it. However, if he is not nervous, then he might be better choosing an afternoon slot. By this point, the people conducting the interviews would be rather tired and, if your boyfriend is a promising candidate, he will almost certainly stand out against the rest of them and would also be fresh in their memory when they're coming to make the choice of who to give the job to. I always think that if the last person they see did a good interview, they are most likely to get the job. They must already be rather impressed with your boyfriend, if they're giving him this much free choice about when to take the interview, because companies usually just give a specific slot and if the person doesn't turn up then they don't get the job, it's as simple as that.

I would without a doubt go with the morning interview. IT shows you want to start the day off on a good note, you are a morning person and can show how you handle. It also allows them to consider his application with more care and time. Remind him when he goes to be confident, if he doesn't get the job he just wasn't the best match and can go elsewhere.

I suggest the 8 am. People are fresh during that day so I suggest he grab that schedule.

Personally, I like to do them anywhere between 11am and 3pm. This is not too late, but gives me time to wake up and prepare. I don't think it really truly matters though in terms of actually being offered the job. I don't think that there is really a trick in it. I say just schedule it at whatever time your schedule would best allow.
