MyLot Activity Tracking

myLot Activity Tracking - A graph of my participation earnings versus the matching day of the week.

Hi there myLotter! Have you ever tried tracking and analyzing your activity in myLot? Since I am really fond of trying to trend and analyze things in real life and I am also running out of ideas on creating a new topic for my self, I think it will be cool to try and analyze my activity here in myLot. I have graphed my everyday activity here in myLot by using the participation earnings as the dependent variable and matching it with the days of the week. This analysis shall assume that the participation earnings is most likely a good gauge of activity here in myLot. My graph includes only my June activity starting from the time when I joined myLot which is just a few weeks only. As I can see from my graph, my activity is increasing as the week goes on. This means I'm getting used to myLot as each week passes. Maybe another reason is because the end of the month is nearing so I'm gunning in for my payout. Also to be noted is that my weekly activity here in myLot dips during Mondays. I guess much can be said for my Mondays as a busy day for me. My activity shoots up during the Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays which can be brought about by the coming of the weekends. My highest earning was on a Tuesday, however, I consider it as an outlier because I was absent for work on that day and I got nothing else to do but keep on myLotting at that time. Well of course, other factors affect activity here in myLot. How about you guys? What days are you usually active in here? Do you have fluctuating or consistent activity in here? Maybe you guys can post too your activity in here! Kindly share your ideas or thoughts regarding this. Thanks and happy myLotting to all!

Morning AG! I don't track anything on here (except the activity of some of my friends to make sure that they are still here and posting ) but I do know that my mood affects the results that I achieve. If I am in a carefree mood with unlimited time and nothing offline that is distracting then I just post everywhere and anywhere that I see either something interesting or friends who are involved in exchanges. Tracking earnings is a useless passtime because myLot has nothing fixed here. even if there was there are then deletions to be taken into account too so what's the point in spending time to track something that will not help loater on? I don't count anything (words, posts, lines or time spent here) at all. I don't when I am talking offline (do you?) and here is the same. These are online conversations which we just happen to get paid for but it doesn't bother me how much or when I earn more or less. That would make it more of a chore and would take away the essence of fun involved

If you are a graph and trending freak and you have this thing about tracking something on here then how about tracking something completely seperate from earnings? How about tracking each time that you respond on a discussion started by a user who is not on your friend list? Then tracking whether they comment back to you, whether they send you a friend request, whether they then respond on your topics and whatever else you can think of that might be interesting? That might distract you from the ratio earnings/postings but might satisfy your hunger to track something, which I can quite understand my friend. After all, your username says it all

Thanks for your insights mysD! I'm really just a graph and trending freak! Haha! I'm really not into tracking earnings but I guess I just used the wrong data to track my activity. I thought I can get a shortcut on using the participation earnings as the reference value for activity in myLot. Question: Is there a way to check on if I am, in a way, improving my interactions, activity or earnings here in myLot. Since the earnings here fluctuate daily, then it is wrong to say that I am earning more due to my activity in here because there are some days that you earn less even if you post a lot. Is that logical? Oh well, so much for that. I just would like to motivate myself by trying to gauge my improvement in terms of if I am giving quality responses lately or not or if I am interacting better today than yesterday. I guess it will be hard to tell then.

Good idea there mysD! I better not mix up with the earnings as I might have my discussion deleted. Maybe I will start tracking my personal post count. I will start tracking my post count by checking the number of words per post I do in a day. Then maybe I can make a histogram per day reflecting my total number of post together with a frequncy variable of length of posts. I guess I'll start working on that and I think it will be more useful than using earnings to track down my improvement here in myLot. Wow mysD! You already made a nice relationship of my name with my personality.

hi! back when i was a newbie, during my first month in mylot, i did try to track the number of my posts vs participation earnings on a daily basis. like most everyone else, i also wanted to know if i could beat the month end by reaching pay-out. within 3 weeks of posting, i found that it was quite possible to reach more than pay-out level. of course, bearing in mind the tips given by veteran mylotters of course. quite helpful indeed. in my case, my highest earnings during that first month was achieved on the last day of the month. i was $2 away from pay-out. and i did mylot for about 5 hours that day so i could reach it. and it paid off. nowadays, i don't have a particular day of the week wherein i was more active. i only do an occasional post from time to time. sometimes, just 1-3 responses to discussions made by friends in the list due to being busy at work. sometimes i couldn't do mylot for several days to a few weeks. but i get back to the site every now and then. hope you are enjoying mylot. i did notice that on your first week you were around 50 posts, added 100 more posts the following week, and more than 150 posts the week after. you certainly are getting used to the site based on the increasing trend of your weekly participation in the site. keep it up! enjoy!

hehe i didn't specifically tracked you out or something but i did notice a few things based on some of your discussions i participated in. and because my posts are few, i can remember most of the discussions i took part on. the other week, i commented that you can already use emoticons because you passed 200 posts. before that, i responded one or two of your discussions just before you reached 100 posts. and the first time i did encounter you in someone else's discussion about improving earnings, you only have about 51 posts at the time. (just a habit, sometimes remembering little things.) yes, 5 hours... it was posting like crazy during that day because a lot of other mylotters wanted to reach pay-out. and i was so far out. needed more than $2 to reach pay-out. and i just wanted to test myself if it was feasible to earn that much on posts alone. these days, because i'm partially inactive... i could not participate in the site as much as i would love to. but i still enjoy my limited time here.

Wow! You have tracked me out nicely! I wasn't even able to track my number of posts per week in here. I guess I'll be doing that number of posts tracking this time around. Thanks for pointing out a rough estimate of my posting improvement here in myLot! Godd to see that I am improving on my interaction, posting, contribution and participation in here. I really would love to contribute here in myLot. And yes, I'll try to track also an estimate of how active I should be to reach payout ever so often or estimate if I can reach the certain payout in a limited time. Wow! you did earned that $2 on a 5 hour sitting with myLot! That's great!

I do believe that even if you are only partially active here in myLot you get to have great results with earnings and fun. You always post quality inputs and nice responses. No wonder you can earn that $2 in 5 hours time. It really is a good thing that you are one of the persons I first encountered here in myLot.

You have too much time on your hands there AgentGullaman. I don't track my activity I really don't have the time to do so. I would say I'm more active during the week. It really depends on how busy I am. Do you also keep track of how many dicussions you respond to and how many discussions you start? To compare with your graph.

I don't really want to graph my activity but you kind of make it sound interesting.lol. when I'm on my laptop I'll give it a go, just for you

Yeah! Sometimes it really is nice to crunch up some data and analyze it. Sometimes you'll be surprised of the results that you are actually getting. I have a penchant on doing analytical work in every aspects of my life. Maybe because I got exposed with so many data during my years in the academe and I'm still getting loads of it in my work. Go ahead and check your out. You might be surprised to find yourself always getting lazy myLotting on just a certain day. That would be interesting! Haha!

Hi there pinklilly! Nice to hear from you again! It really isn't that hard to check on that. I only get my participation earnings and plot it on a graph. MyLot keeps track of it on the earnings tab so even you can easily put it on a spreadsheet and graph it out. Try it! So you are saying you are more active during the weekends or weekdays? I made my activity tracking to check which days I am busiest at. It turned out to be on Mondays and I think it jives with the amount of workloads that I have during Mondays. I think the number of discussions I respond to and I started can be seen on the profile page and also the number on the parenthesis besides our name. But it is a good idea to also incorporate tracking of the number of discussions I replied to or started during the course of the day.

When I first joined MyLot, I tracked my activity for the first week, and then completely gave up on the task. But if I did track my activity here, I would discover that I am most active on the weekends, and that my activity corresponds to times that I am not doing much else writing.
• Philippines

Same as me then! I am also trying to gauge weekend activity. Is your weekend activity here in myLot consistent? I'm thinking maybe weekend activity in here can be fluctuating as vacations, outings and going outs usually happens during the weekends. When you previously trakced your activity, did you find any specific day of the week tto wherein you are usually lazy to do myLotting? I got the Monday syndrome! Haha! May I also ask why you gave up on tracking your activity in here? I think much can be learned if we try to analyze our activity in here. It can be a gauge of our busiest or most idle days of the week or maybe our online habits. Thanks for your inputs! I really appreciate them!

People are mostly active on weekends because they have work on weekdays. it's hard to make a topic in mylot if you don't have time for it because you have to be more active in you're work. this is the the first time i've seen veterans that i've never seen before here

Yeah! Work is a big hindrance to myLotting! Maybe we can try to analyze the demographics of the population here in myLot. Isn't that interesting if we could know like what is the poopulation of myLot composed of. Are there more females in here or males? Are there more offline worker in here compared to online workers? A good statistics on the different countries population in here would be nice to look at too. I really don't know what I'm thinking to try to bother about it. Haha! It seems that I really love to look up data.

So you did started the analyzing earnings topic, didn't you? I never thought at analyzing my activity here. Maybe that's because I do this more for fun than for the earnings. If the earnings were important, maybe I would have paid more attention to this aspect. The only thing I like to analyze here is my referrals earnings. I like to know what to expect from my friends' help. I've noticed this column has gaps in every Saturday and Sunday, so it seems my referrals don't even start their PC during weekends.

I don't think being "really a sucker for improvement" is something bad. Especially that you said you do this for most of your offline activities as well. I wish I could be like that but this would suppose setting goals and reaching them and this is something I'm not good at.

I guess I'm just really a sucker for improvement! Haha! Wow! Good for you! You got some referrals to monitor on. I don't even have one of my own. Hmmm...Maybe weekends for your referrals are for pure relaxation off the computer. What do you think? But still, having a good bunch of active referrals is always a positive! I'm really not fond of trying to get referrals or persuading my friends to use this and that sites. Oh well, I just have to live with no referrals at all then.

Actually your name agent is very acurate to your discussion now of having a tracking graph for your activity here in mylot, that's a good way. By the way I never do like that of monitoring only I'm counting my responses and comments done everyday except Friday because Friday is holiday here in Saudi Arabia. So if I will monitor it look like everyday I'm working and active in mylot..

That's just fine. Real life work should be the focus. I'm just playing around with what I can play with here in mylot. Haha! If my name is appropriate for me, how about yours? Surely, there must be something into that name of yours too.

hi agentgulaman I did that when I first came here and earned muych less and got headaches from all that stuffl..so I started to just respond tol my closer friends here and I began to earn more even though I was actually enjoying myself too. Participation is the key and guqlity participation at that,.not counting stuff at all. I am not into graphs and su ch bu t am into making money , having fun , and enjoying myseld on my lot.I am on here most of the time as I am retired and why not enjoy mylot and make money I really need to keep on the internet.

Hi there Hatley! Yeah, who wouldn't notice you of being active here in myLot! Good for you that you got a good amount to be in here. I also wish to pump up my activity in here that's why I try to analyze where I can tweak my schedules and what seems to affect my activity in here. But yes, I totally agree with you! The key to earning in here is to forget about the earnings and just post naturally and respond nicely. Like you, I'm having fun in here, but of course I got some good amount of real life issues which needs to be attended like work. Right! Every bit of money earned at leisure time is a bonus and I am glad that we have discovered myLot at that!

My you do have an analytical mind! i joined mylot some years ago and I come and gosite . when I first joined Mylot I used to have a job keeping up to speed with all of the topics, some of the topics are decent and others can be poor. I love to see a few funny posts on mylot, it makes the day a little brighter. Mylot has so many members it would be impossible to keep track of my activity, its just fun to tap away on the computer.

Yes I do believe so that you will need a lot of effort to be able to track down something. It just happens that I'm getting bored facing my computer that the idea just came out of my head. Yeah! I've been looking out also for those interesting and laughable topics in here. It really is a good thing to read some discussions in here and get a piece of the mind of other people posting in here. I learn a lot from other myLotters!

Good thing I reached payout as a reward for those weeks. And you know what Letranknight, I've been a fan of you in here. I always look on how you participate in myLot and I've learn a thing or two from you. Haha!

We can see in "my activity" on our profile page. And we can note down the number of discussions on a note book on a daily basis. And earning also note down. Then weekly we can check it. but it is not possible, because we just going through our works.

Hi there rameschow! Yes, it is indeed very hard to track down activity if you got a lot of things to do in real life or offline life. Real life is really a hindrance in myLotting! What do you think? I think when I get the luxury of time I'll try to do my activity tracking. As of this moment, I am very busy and can't get it done yet. I hope we all get the time needed to do myLot then!

Yep, with the fast changing technology and a fast paced world, everything should be fast, fast, fast. It's really hard not to get caught by the fast paced living and pressures of the real world. Good thing, myLot is here to provide some slow relaxation time. Rameschow, don't get so busy like a bee! I think there is plenty of time for everything.

Wow AG, you are quite the busy bee with grafting and tracking. If it gives you a sense of improvement on how you are Lotting then I think it will be something good for you. Personally, I do not track anything and or how much I do here, I think I would waste efforts because each day is different on what I participate with. One of the things I truly learned early on and that was to allow all to flow, I can understand that you want to see your efforts listed out, but for me that would cause me to add yet a daily chore. What happens if one day, activity is lessened and you push yourself for more the next day. Then you see something like this would somehow make the fun aspect disappear. Being a member here for one year and enjoying the site like if it were my first day has been quite a joy to date. I am usually here daily, as for times it sort of varies, as sometimes I do have offline obligations I do need to tend to right away. Thus far unless I have an issue with my internet, I am usually here everyday. I don't have anything I can post in terms of having had tracked as I really do not. I know when I have had enough and or I would like to continue doing more. Good luck with your tracking and do not forget to put the fun aspect part in priority mode as that will allow you to continue myLotting for years to come.

Yep hardworkinggurl! I always consider the fun here in myLot. However, my definition of fun is when I learn and see myself improve. That's why I do always check if I improve in the things I am doing in life. It is a sort of motivational tool for me. I am a very competitive person and challenging myself has has always been fun for me. So I really don't take out the fun in myLot with my current tracking. You are right, tracking the activity in here can be another daily chore. This past few days, I've been quite busy that I cannot accommodate my tracking anymore. I guess I have to do it during the times when I got light workloads. Anyway, thanks for your insights in here. I know you don't need to track your activity here in myLot because I know that you are the hardworkinggurl in here!

I haven't really tried tracking my activity here, since it's very inconsistent. If I'm at my boyfriend's for example, I'll only be on here when he's out (he goes to sport training for an hour or so on Tuesday's and Thursday's) and if I'm here with him or family, my contributions will be on and off throughout the day. When I'm home on my own however, I'll contribute to mylot quite a lot that day. I tried tracking for a few days last week, keeping a track of how many discussions I started, responded to, roughly how many words I wrote and my earnings, but I didn't find an even loose link. I'm busiest here during the week, since early in the week I tend to be home alone, whereas at the weekend when my family are off work, we'll tend to go out places, and towards the second half of the week I'm likely to be at my boyfriends. You've written a lot of posts considering you only joined 4 weeks ago! I only really used mylot for about a week after I joined, and have just started using it again recently. I think I will set myself a goal amount of posts for the month though. I don't want to set goals for the day, since some days I'm busy or just don't have much to say, but the month gives me enough flexibility to catch up if somthing goes wrong! Happy myLotting :)

Hi there drasnian and thanks for your thoughts in here! Yes, it will be very difficult to track down your activity and harder to analyze it if there are really a lot of variables affecting your activity here in myLot. I think that your activity here really depends on your leisure time or just the amount of time available for you to post. It seems like myLot is part of your hobby and past time. That's good as there really is no pressure for you to post and earn in here. It says that you use myLot freely and for fun. Now I saw someone who is not quite active during the weekends. Yeah, plans during the weekends can't be helped. I'm trying to busy myself with myLot this past few weeks and I'm having a great time in here. I've been trying to pressure myself and set goals here. But of course, mood swings can really affect the activity here in myLot but it can't be helped to try to at least achieve the minimum payout at month ends. Happy MyLotting too!
