Most of the people are not ready to accept that we are becoming old day by day..mentally their thinking is still we are young..few try to make up/pretend like young..share your experiences on this subject...

I have to say that I have 23 years old and I'm already suffering with this matter. I'm not happy when my birthday is coming, seriously, I get really depressed. I guess because I think that I didn't done almost anything that I planned when I was younger. I don't want even to imagine when I get to 30 years, I'll probably be crazed about it.

When I was younger, I lived in denial that I was growing older. Now, I have learned to accept it. I think part of the acceptance is the fact that I ended up in a field where it is the work that you do that counts, and not your age and youthful appearance. (I am a writer if you are curious.) I think being married helps also. Going to university (I started college at forty) as a non-traditional student, I have learned to enjoy my life experience. I listen to my younger class-mates, and just shake my head at some of the stuff that comes out of their mouths. And I laugh whenever one of them complains about the amount of homework they have---you can tell who hasn't experienced a really bad job yet. Of course, I am there for a skill-set (I have book that I want to write, but I lack certain skills---I am working on getting them). I can't say the same about many of my younger class-mates.

Well, at just a few months away from hitting an age milestone (40) I think about this a lot lately. I view things so differently than when I was younger. I too look at the younger generation and just shake my head. The things they say aren't much different than what I was saying at that age so I wonder maybe I am shaking my head more at myself for those things.

We have no choice but to accept our age since there is really nothing we can do about it. If we are to grow old with a little dignity, we need to accept our situation and try to share our experiences with those younger than ourselves in the hopes of helping them make their lives better.
