Several times in our lives we have to move. There is lots of boxing, packing then unpacking to do. It always seems there is nothing to moving until we actually do it. A person never realizes how much stuff they have until they try to move it. Why again did we buy all that stuff?? Do we really need to save it all?? Carry on. Though a move always seems endless, you will settle in eventually. Just always remember to move to a larger place. If you move to a smaller place, it can become a nightmare. So how did your move go??

Well, unlike you, I really don't like moving. I lived in the same location throughout my childhood and early adulthood and I prefer the stability of a long term living environment. Unfortunately, i have moved 8 times in the last 16 years and do not look forward to another move.

8 times in 16 years??? You poor thing. I know you are good at it by now. Maybe it's time to grow a few roots and stay put. Of course, that might not help you. If you are like me, friends, family and neighbors all call when they are moving. With your experience, you can expect a call.

I have a tee-shirt reads, "I'm retired, don't ask me for s---." lol But that is just for humor, I always help though the family is more or less rooted in their homes.

I thought you had my solution too, but you say the shirt doesn't really work. OK! We will have to think of something else. You are right. We are going to help regardless. That is who we are.

I really hate moving, I moved already many times and If possible I don't want to move anymore not unless I will move to my own dream house. It is giving me always stressful week until finally everything is set up again in the new house.

I agree. A new house is very stressful after a move. It does take time to settle in and put everything where it needs to go. It also takes time for the place to really start feeling like Home. You have the right idea. Find that dream home then move the one time for your entire life.

We moved a lot when i was growing up. My father never seemed to be happy in one place. Making friends in school was sometimes a challenge because i never knew when we would move again. As an adult, the thoughts of a new place and new opportunities for more of a pleasure. i liked packing up for a new place. i did not always enjoy the unpacking.

Interesting. Do you find you are moving as much as dad did?? Maybe it's inherited. Yes,it's always best to be positive. Moving brings change and there are always new opportunities to explore.

Hi bird: I must admit that I am more conservative in these cases. I would love to stay at the same house forever. I accept changes in my life as a part of everyone's life but before making a decision that will change my life as for example moving on I think more than once. For me saying goodbye is a long process. I have to look carefully for the important things and the things that represent a lot to me. I have to decide what are the things that I am going to miss and if I can afford to take this new step. I'd love to have everything planned, etc. Difficult huh? That's the way I do it. ALVARO

I think that is a smart thing. What is the old saying? Measure twice and cut once. That way one is sure.

I have moved several times.I will feel upset at the mention of moving now.If you don't move, you are in the dark, the moment you do,you get a start. You find that you have a lot of stuffs ,some of them set aside for quite some time, but you hate to part with anything.

Yes, that is when you realize that it's going to be a bigger job than you thought.
