Are you tired of people who "hate" you because you smoke?

I read all of these postings about smoking, why are people saying horrible things about us? I was a very respectable smoker, I always tried to respect the non-smokers, but why did I? All most of them want to do is say nasty things about smokers. Do they really think they know me as a person? We all are human beings and make mistakes, are any of them going to tell me they are perfect and haven't done some harmful to themselves or others? Have any of them ever gotten behind the wheel of a car drunk or on a cellphone call? Please people try and see your own faults first. Are they overweight, do they over eat, do they drink soda pop, coffee, tea? They are all bad for your health, and can cause health problems.

If someone HATES me because I smoke then I probably wouldn't get along with them anyway. I don't care for people who HATE. Therefore, "brush your shoulder off".

I know people can have their own opinions, but why should they hate all of them? Just like you, would you want someone to hate you and not know you? Doesn't that sound like ignorance to you? I also can have my own opinion as a smoker, and this is it.

I have read the entire discussion and i never read anywhere in it that she was trying to tell people how to think. She is merely stating that smokers get frowned upon for nothing. I was also a courteous smoker and no one has any reason to judge a smoker and opinion is fine but no one is too control anyone so why frown upon what others do.

yeah thats true. i get annoyed when people seat beside me on a coffee shop or someplace (knowing the spot is a smoking zone) and cover their nose and makes me feel that they are annoyed once i puff out. as if!!! do we hate them for not being a smoker?! we dont right?

I agree with you that people should not be soo quick to judge. I was a smoker for 15 years and i am only on my days six of quitting. I found this quit smoking online seminar and i can not remember the link to it but all smokers should read this and i guarantee them victory in quitting. I am a great person and i am just quitting and i do not think that smokers should be judged at all in such a way!

I have to admit that it frustrates me too. Anybody who just does a blanket hate thing annoys me. You write a very good argument to the haters. Thanks for bringing this up. I just wish people would see things on an individual basis rather than just making lump statements. (LOL....could that be a lump statement??) Maybe I should add SOME people or CERTAIN people. :)
