Warning to Americans traveling to Mexico

United States
July 3, 2011 2:32pm CST
A warning has been issued to Americans thinking of traveling to Nuevo Laredo this July 4th weekend. Reliable information has been received by law enforcement and the government that the Zetas Cartel is planning to target Americans. A warning has been issued to Texans and other Americans suggesting that they do not go to Nuevo Laredo this long weekend. The Zetas are known for robberies and car jacking among other crimes. I am certain that they also have histories of shooting, murdering and kidnapping. No information has been received that the Zetas will be coming across the border into Laredo but what is to stop them if they choose to do so. Outside of the border states, not many Americans understand how deadly the Mexican Cartels are and just how serious the situation is. The U. S. Government is going to be forced to tackle the problem: The Mexican Government is trying but it is a losing battle for them. We are going to have to go into Mexico to help out. It is just a matter of time.

I am sure it is much worse than it was when I lived in San Diego. I think there is plenty for me to see in the US this year. I do not know how they can get in control of the situation unless both countries cooperate.

I need to fill out some surveys to get approved for something else on bzzagent. It has been more than thirty years since I lived in San Diego, but if you see my response above, even then there was a small portion of the society that was engaged in criminal activity, running back and forth across the border.

We already are helping out more than most people think we are. The cartels are crazy, they have no respect for human life and will do everything possible to gain the upper hand and kill whoever tries to stand in their way or just comes into contact with them. Americans need to realize many countries are plagued with different forms of terrorism and will target anyone who promotes democracy and values.

Wow! You have a Bogeyman who isn't Muslim? Really, not linked to Al Quaida, Al Gore or Al Capone? You mean it's real and not just part of your imagination? Yeah, go and invade them! Have another war that you can't afford. Any thing else new?

I do not think we need to invade Mexico, but our hands must not be tied in defending ourselves against the criminal portion of society, here or there, or in connection with one another. I lived very near the border between California and Mexico many years ago, and even at that time, when I had some friends who were Mexican citizens, they made a point of appealing to us not to think that all Mexicans were the same as the hoodlums and criminals that were causing trouble at that time. I know or realize that it has only gotten worse. I do not want us in any war, but if it is happening on our soil, we need to get in control.
