My boss never fails to amaze me.

After buying me breakfast the other day with good intentions, despite being horrible food, my boss amazed me again today.
I was supposed to cut the grass at my place today, but just never had the energy to do it.
She calls me up and asks me if we managed to camp out last night, which we didn't because it rained.
I told her that I wanted to cut the grass today, but since my foot was still sore, I just didn't feel up to it.
So she says to me, "don't do it today. When we're coming back from a client's home this week, we'll stop by your place and I'll help you with it."
I was dumbfounded and almost speechless. I never thought that she would help me with this let alone want to do this after a long day at work.
We have about 5000 square feet of grass in the front and back yard, and it takes me about an hour to do it myself.
An hour of that on a still healing foot is not something I look forward to considering the fact that it's all I did yesterday, for a good 6 hours.
So I'm looking forward to her help, she'll use the line trimmer and really clean things up around here, which is something we desperately need.
Now I've just got to convince someone around here to clean up the dog crap before she comes by to help cut the grass.
She's been here before, but only briefly, so she's never seen our backyard or the entire house, only the front and the entrance way of our house.
She thinks the house isn't worth what we pay for rent, but she'll see that it's more than worth it, simply from the lot size when she comes to cut the grass. Maybe she'll see the inside of the house as well.
I'm looking forward to her help, I'm just too tired to get it done by myself, and I'm the only one allowed to use the work mowers at home.

Very special and very unique, I would say. She is a very kind-hearted and sympathetic type of a person. One has to be very thankful for her helping hand ! You are very fortunate in that way, and of course , can be good friends helping each other. A friend in need is a friend indeed !

That's for sure.
She's almost like a mother to me, since she is much older than me. And I'm the daughter she's never had.

That is very kind of her. I imagine she appreciates your loyalty when you have such a rough work schedule and erratic work in the winter. I know about the chores in the yard, because mostly I am the one who does it. Hubby is doing more, but he is not as driven as I am to get the stuff done when it needs to be. When a company cannot give raises, then special treatment or extra considerations may make a difference. I am sure she realizes how hard it is to keep working in spite of your injury and she is willing to invest in you and your well being.

I never expected this from her at all.
But I guess I should expect anything, I've been working for her for 4 years now. Others have come and gone, but I'm the only one who has stuck around.
We've had our little spats, but we always get over them and continue. She'd be lost without me honestly.
I get a small raise every year, I've gone up $3/hr since starting and that always helps, even though it's still a struggle to get by.
She knows she's over working me with this injury, but she also knows that I need the money, that's why we've got so much to do.
She knows when I've had enough, and will tell me to go sit down. But being a person who wants to get things done, I'm not down for very long, sometimes she has to force me to stop and sit for a while.
But to be able to go home with a net pay of $700 in one week is more than I could ever hope for. So I wont complain about it.

I think it is great that your boss has offered to mow your grass for you. Did someone clean up the yard for you? Has she come already? I hope things went ok for you. Have a great week!!!

Hi Kris. That is really great that your boss will help you like this. We have a riding mower and a push mower. We have a really big round lawn in the back. Ir is bordered by some woodlands. It's great here. It's always nice when someone offers to help. I don't know what is wrong with your foot but I hope it gets better soon.

This is wonderful to hear. Despite your hectic schedule your boss acknowledges your dedication, therefore, finds some ways to make it up to you. I am glad to hear this as some bosses today, burn away the employees and never acknowledge with any type of generosity.

Your boss really have a kind heart and are full of human touch. She came back from a client's and couldn't so much as think that she was travel-worn to help you cut the grass.I think this is just human management.

This is really fantastic - your boss should be a recognized roll model for other bosses. There would be no bosses without the workers under, right? I hope all goes with your yard work and help. May time be on your side. You are one lucky worker. :)
P.S. I do hope your foot heals all the way - and soon at that.

She's the Boss every employee wants to meet! But if that will happen to me i will not let him. I will be so shy letting my boss do something for me. But Your Boss is really amazing, she maybe saw your heart for doing the job she's giving you. Keep up the good employee employer relationship, that's healthy to do the job smoothly. Relationship between employers and employees are a big issue when it comes to work, the relationship can be a big cause of success and failure of a company...i believe in that because there are a lot of companies seemingly big but i think not that successful in matters of employee relationship. A boss like her is one of a kind, many are looking for her kind, or maybe because you said a while back many come and just go in her management, maybe you are the only one who saw her heart, just as she saw yours too...
