This is an amazing story! There was a 2 year old girl playing or hanging out of window 10 stories high when a woman passing by seen her fall and ran and caught the little girl. The impact broke the womans arms and knocked her over while the 2 year old girl is in hospital in a critical condition with internal injuries. I was very shocked to hear this story such a tragedy and such a hero i hope they both recover quickly. What great luck the little girl has! I wonder where the mother was?

THis brings to mind the old Popeye cartoons. When Sweet Pea got lose from Olive Oil and was up on a building structure up high. It was quite breath catching. Made me have bad dreams after my daughter was born. Thinking what if she woke up after I had gone to sleep and was roaming around the house. You just never know what was going on that lead that little child to be near the window. Thank goodness the woman was walking by when she was. Fate at its best!

I'm not sure i just know that the impact of breaking the young girls fall broke the rescuers arm and they were both in hospital. Very lucky and scary at the same time. I wish them both the best! Great news story in my opinion.

Yes they are the woman had her arm broken and was probably suffering from shock i would say. I think the impact knocked her to the ground and i know the childs injuries were internal.

That is a great story, and something that makes me hope I would be as brave as that woman. I really hope the child recovers, she really should since she seemed to have a guardian angel watching out for her. Thank you for sharing this inspirational story in a time when we only seem to hear about the bad!

Yes that is what i thought lily, when a news story makes you drop you jaw in disbelief but still feel happy then it is usually something courageous and daring that makes you proud! I also think she must have a gaurdian angel as it was a very lucky escape. I would like to think that i would catch the little girl and not let her fall, but you never know how you would react in that situation until you find yourself in one. The woman broke her arm trying to catch the girl and they both ended up in hospital who's to say we might have a different instinct then to stick your arms out and catch her. Maybe you call someone, run up there... she was dangling for awhile. I know i wold never turn on my video camera and just record the girl hanging at the window.

Oh yeah... I heard this in the news (actually, just read it). So great of her. I mean, come on! I can't even catch a pen, how much more a child. Hope they both go well. It must have really hurt her because that would be great impact.

It's amazing what we can acheive when we believe in ourselves! I think this is a very courageous woman and an extremely lucky girl! It was obviously not her time to leave this earth!

Wow that is amazing. It's a good thing that woman was there and paying attention. It's amazing how often people will just pass by something and not notice it or not care enough to stop. Just the other day I was reading our local news and a 2 year old girl was found walking down a busy avenue in the turning lane. A lady saw her and parked her car sideways to protect her and said how so many cars were driving by not even paying attention. The little girl was half a mile from her house, so you know a bunch of other people had already driven by her and didn't bother to stop. It's a good thing there are still people out there that care.

Care enough to stop is the thing. Whoever was filming it seen the girl dangling about the window frame and mearly captured it on camera whilst a passer by did everything in her power to save the life of this girl at whatever risk to her own health. You probably wouldn't have time to think about it hurting you in that situation, you either act or you miss your chance. I think she is very heroic and i hope they recover quickly. These types of stories make me proud to hear.

hi dont pick your nose he he your user name always makes me laugh. I read that news too. Poor heroic women and poor little child. I hope they both recover. right where was the mom. we moms think we are careful but I will never forget this one morning I had put my toddler son down for a nap as I was so behind with housework.but I heard this awful gurglling sound coming from his room. I tore in there and the little fellow had been playing with a home made toy Monkey . the monkey came from my mother in law and had fringe on it. my son had got a large loop of this fringe caught aroud his throat and was frantic as he put his little hands inside the loop trying to get it off and he was turning blue. I dashed into the living room , got my big sewing scissors and got that noose off his neck. He turned pink and whitealmost immediately. then I took that monkey and I snipped open every loop on that darned thing. It had almost killed him. Also I snipped any loops on all the drapes so he could not hang himself accidentally. Also I got him out of that bed and stuck him in the kitchen where he soon had the pots and pans out to beat on them with a big spoon. I kept him where I could see what he was doing at all times. seconds is all it takes for a small child to get into bad bad trouble.moms do be careful.

Oh how sad to hear. The woman reacted out of quick instinct to save the girl. Quite heroic and although both of them are currently injured, I do hope they both recover well. It is sad to hear when children get injured and or if a heroin also gets hurt in the process of trying to save the child.

Yes it is sad but also a miracle! It's sad that they both got hurt but it is exceptional lucky to be falling from 10 storys high above someone you dont know who is willing to risk their life to save yours. Nothing comes down lightly from that distance. I think they are both very lucky and i hope they heal quickly.

That the woman is more injured is in itself a miracle, not to mention the quick thinking involved. Most people would not have reacted that quickly or clear headedly. I do not think I would have, but i guess you do not know until you are in that position.
