My joy knew no bounds when today in the morning my door bell rang and I opened the doors. What a great surprise it was for me. I saw my daughter with her husband standing in front of me. At first I thought it to be a dream in day light but the very next moment I discovered it to a reality. It was a preplanned tour by them to their native city. But they kept it a secret to give us a great surprise. Both of them are so naughty still now. But both me and my husband were very delighted and enjoyed the whole day. After dinner, they have returned to her in law's residence at Dumdum. They will return back to their place of present job in the next week and during this period we will certainly enjoy every moment available to us. I think all of us have the same feelings when their children visit them after a long time.

I know this joy too. My granddaughter has come to visit us and spent the night. Her and my great grandson. Nice to have them here for awhile. She recently had some very bad times and I am glad to see her happy and well again. It is sort of weird to have her here after so long away.

Awh sweet of them to have surprised you and your husband. I am sure there were teary but happy moments. It is quite nice to have loved ones surprise us and visit after being away for a long time. Doing so means they truly thought of us and wanted to surprise us and enjoy our company. I hope they visit you more often as it does sound like you truly enjoyed the visit.

That is indeed a surprise and a joyful surprise. I have big children who go out with friends and come back to the house next day brings a lot of joy for me. What a joy it will be if my children go out for ever in marriage and work somewhere and come back. It will be a greater joy. Thank you for sharing such as family reunion, a surprise one indeed.

hi doctordidi oh yes indeed we all have that same wonderful feeling when our adult children come to see us. Now my own son,52, is just six miles away, but hes living in a gov.sponsored apt with three other mem all of whom were homeless and looking for work, and I am in this tiresome retirement home whic h takes most of my soc ial security and ss I checks to pa y monthly rent and board. But myson God bless him does come to see me ea ch week so its not so bad having to live here, He had lost his job , i wasliving with him in a two bedroom apt, and we got behind on the rent and were evicted.so his visits are very dear to me I am 84 going on 85 in Nov of this year l,ol,. I am so glad your daughter and son in law gave you a surprise visit. so lovely to see them again.I am physically handicapped so hard for me to trave on regular bus but the little access b us does take me back and for to my necessary appointments. I have yet to see my sons apt. lol lol.

Wow, great surprise for me too. Lolz, might be imagining that why am i so ? The reason is that, i thought you are a medical student like me , as i am also a medical student,i thought you might be senior by 1-2 years. Now , whoa !!, you are a mother and mother-in-law too. And above you said you are 54+, means elder than my mom too. Wow, thats a great surprise for me. And yeah, i know parents enjoy a lot, and they are very much happy too, when they see their children after so much long time. I have no personal experience in this, as you might be knowing,i am only 18 , and a student, but i know, because i am also the only child of my parents. I have no other brothers and sisters. My dad stays abroad and i live in India with my mom. When sometimes i go somewhere ,may be for 1 week out of station leaving my mom alone, when i am back, i can see her feelings on her facial expressions.I know 1 week is not so much long time, but still its a long time for any parents , when their child is far away from them .And the same happiness is there, when we all are together,i.e.Me and my both the parents.

Yes, most of the times we got dumbfounded to surprises, as if the world stops to let us think if it's true.I'm happy for your daughter and her husband surprise visit to your place. What kept it more exciting is they haven't told you about their visit. And they will stay with you for the rest of the week, so they have lots of time to share with their parents the latest happening on their married life. I guess you will be busy too, because it's a week long reunion you can cooked your daughter's favorite dishes to make it really especial.I hope you do enjoy every moment of their stay.

Hi DD! I'm glad that you and your kids had a mini-reunion. Personally, I always enjoy it when my parents visit us at our place. And when we visit them, oh boy! what a delight as well. All my favorite foods will be served at our table. It's like being a kid once more.

I think it's really good to know that children still visits their parents even if they have their own families. I am happy for you because you have a sweet child. I think nowadays, children who have their own families forgot to visit their parents. I think its because they are too busy with their own family. I am very glad that you have that kind of child. Lucky to you! God bless ^^

.... Hmmm,"Dumdum"... the last time i heard that was on the movie 'night at the musium'; (hahaha)- you know, when the tiki cement , thing asked the night guard - "Hey dumdum, you bring me gumgum??" (hahahaha) !!!!!!!!! But on a serious note is dumdum a real place? first time i heard of it... for instance, i always thought that the country Turkey was a big factory where you get turkey from!! i even told my mom that all the people that live there must gain weight during the christmas and thanksgiving!!! hahahahaha!! - NOTE!: that was when i was younger!!!lol!!! oh! here's one for ya! have you heard about the place called hungry (bently)??? turns out that all the people abandoned that village and has been called the best depopulated place in that area!!! Hmmm, do u think THIS is just a coincidence?????? BIG QUESTIONS THAT NEED ANSWERS PEOPLE!!!!!!!!

oh and also i LOVE having the family get together and have a good time!!!!!!!! we play games like - who can eat the most water melon and dont past out! haha! and also .... yeah i prefer not to mention that one.... its kinda embarrassing!!! hahahaha!! there's also sports - who ever gets hit with the donut first does chores for a month!!! haha!! and YES! in my family it IS a sport!!! its just our way off saying we do NOT appreciate the fat and calories! sad to say i already fell victim to that .... i'd never forget the sleepless night thinking about my brother's dirty sock and underwear in the laundry!!! IT STILL GIVES ME GOOSE BUMPS !!!!!!!!! like the cartoon goose bumps shown on cartoon network that i sometimes watch with my cartoon loving niece!!!!! :)
