Do you think Facebook is changing our world?

Hi everyone, I´m from Portugal, and i remember a 6 years ago when i install msn on computer i thought that it was the revolution, i already used a mIRC but nothing compared to the interface of msn. After msn come Hi5, that every single person have and hi5' page where post their photos of holidays, school, work etc. But for me Hi5 have always a big big problem, i saw it like a spam social network, because was full of smiles, ads and spam. A 2 or 3 years ago Facebook started get some fame here, and now, passed 3 years, every person have a facebook pages, and i saw that most of time people answer to me more fast on facebook than on mobile phone, so i think that "ya i just need mobile phone to acess facebook, not really to send sms or call to someone", so i see mbile phone like a physical interface between facebook and me, that give me change to be always online to all world... Facebook, in my opinion, is revolutioning world, and how people, think, act and live their lives. What is your opinio abaout that?

Social networking sites have definitely had a big impact on the world.You only have to look at the recent arab spring,it was a big asset to the demenstrators who used it to organise efficently.It also allows people in secretive regimes such as iran to spread information on acts government oppression around the world and hopefully it will help prevent serious acts of government oppression and murder from happening such as genocide as hopefully if evidence gets out and is widely spread other governments will be forced to intervene.

i totally agree with you... the security question is an assunt very complicated to discut because have many factor envolv there... because if u see if only about a choose, like a filter, because good people go to social network, and bad people want personal information and go there too. So every people is there good and bad people.. But i think that assunt will take much more time to resolv.
