My hard working friend.

I have known Elaine for a short time but then we feel like we've known each other for years already because we somehow clicked to almost anything that we share under the sun. Elaine is younger than I for 8 years. She's an undergraduate of a Nursing degree. What I am proud about of her is that she works at night and studies by day. She told me that if she doesn't continue her studies, how will she get her goals and help her family. She will never feel that fulfillment she hopes for during those times where money is not a problem while she was studying. And now, she has to pay for her expenses in school now because of a financial crisis. Her shift starts at 8pm in the evening and ends at 5am. She goes home. Get 4 hours of sleep and attends her class at 10am until 5pm. She goes home. Have dinner and then prepare herself to work. There are times where she can't afford to sleep a day because of her class's assignments. If I were in her case, I don't know if I can make it. It's hard to juggle her classes and her work. But she has will and determination. I know she can make it.

You must be proud of her as your friend as she is a good example of a young people who really tries hard to reach her goal and do everything (rightly) to succeed. I have known people like her ,who moved heaven and earth just to finish school. Now, they are living in comfort because of a good job. Let us all pray for her, that God bless her each day to cope up and survive her journey towards a good future.

She is. She is an inspiration to those who are also experiencing financial struggles in life. I know that by the time she succeeds - she will have more than fulfillment in her life and that is forever an ego boost for her.

Hi...its really amazing what your friend does! She studies and works together! I can only do one at a time and work only in holidays, under a computer company this time! I never could see that its possible to do both together. I work to get experience. A salute to your friend!

That's what makes her work hard because she knows it's for her own good. And yes, I will always continue being supportive to her. Our friends know she will make it. Happy mylotting too, Rainegurl.

Hello, jaiho. It seems that while she was studying, she has also found what she really wanted right after she graduates and that is in the food chain industries. I wish her all the best and I guess this is also a reminder to all of us that each who goes through great hardships in life will always be rewarded. Patience and perseverance and prayer all the way for a brighter future.

Hiya TD, Elaine is very determined yes she is. I can´t think of how I would do that although I probably would but it seems difficult to manage. It´s nice to have a good Friend to relate to that thinks much like you do. Wishing her all the luck in the World and you to to be able to finish those studies with flying colours and honours. Many Students here are in the same problem as well. Now it´s a Holiday here well it starts tomorrow really and there are a lot of Students that will be working unbearable Hours in the Bars. They will make quite a bit of cash too but they have earned it for putting up with all they have to put up with like rude People, too much noise, music far too loud and too much heat as these Days are extremely hot here. The thing is now they want to pay them less for doing the same drudgery they want to halve the amount and I don´t think that is fair at all. How miserable can People get? I see it as drudgery because this kind of work that goes on for hours although it´s only nine Days it seems like forever and they are also not used to working so long. Fiesta for some and not for others but there is still cash to be made I hope. One of my Sons is working in a Bar all of the nine Days too.xxx Oh the Fiesta is called San Fermines (Running Of The Bulls). Really for me it´s just jealousy that´s all as they normally earn a fair amount but there will be so many People that need that kind of cash to keep going in what they are doing. I would never begrudge anybody that money I say good luck to them and all.

Hi, lovingangels. Yes. My friend have a the same job because she works as a Customer Service through the phone and she has to go through the same as well (ie all kinds of people except that she has to take it all on the phone but it can be painful to ears - ) it's very hard and though she has admitted that the pay is not that rewarding but she has to because it's the only job she has, it's hard to get a part time job here in our country. How I wish I could witness your fiesta - is it dangerous? I'll try to look it up on you tube and see how your fiesta is being celebrated. I hope your son does well too and may his sacrifices be rewarded.

Hi! I am a registered nurse and i have graduated a long time ago. Well, nursing studies is difficult and critical. You see nurses handles life and in just one mistake of a nurse her patient will die. Your friend is a real diligent student i guess because she can work and she can still go to school. My only advice to her is to take her studies seriously, especially when she is already assigned in the hospital for her clinical exposure. The four-year nursing curriculum is a bit short of the knowledge and skills compared to the ones we had in our days when nursing was a five-year course and we spend all summer in our clinical exposures. I hope she would not fall asleep during duty hours. Lack of sleep can make a person prone to commit mistakes. Just tell her to study well and be careful in handling patients in the ward.

Hi, triplejazz. It's nice to hear that you are a nurse yourself, too. I know nursing course is very difficult because my mo is also a nurse and yes, their patients are also in their hands. Don't worry triplejazz, I will make sure she gets your advice. She is in her last semester now. And it's very hard for her to juggle her work and her studies. Lack of sleep is indeed hard because it would be possible for her to make mistakes. Thanks for your good wishes. You take care.

A person with the kind of determination that your friend Elaine has is a person that is definitely going to be successful in her life. In addition to that, working to become a nurse is a very noble career and it is the kind of career that it takes a special person to have. One of the things with working a night shift job is that there is typically a lot of down time where she can do some of her studies as well. I can't wait to hear from you that she has gotten done with the work on getting her degree.

I understand what your friend is going through for i'm going through the same process too. I'm holding 4 jobs at the moment, one full time and 3 part time. I don't have much time to myself because i need the money. IT's tiring, but as long as your friend can hold it, all the sacrifices now would be worth it in the future. She's young after all, and she can make it.

Hi, kittie. Me, too. I don't think I have the time management for juggling two-three priorities at the same time. Earlier when she jsut got off from work, she sent me a text message telling me she's cramming in her notes because they have an exam later. I do wish, too, that she'll get flying colors once she graduates. It would be one of her fulfillment in her life that she will soon share to her soon to be children and grandchildren. Wish I could be like her, too.

It's very good that you are so supportive of your friend. It takes sacrifice to work and go to nursing school. Been there and done that. I had some help from my parents and also had a child. It was rough but I made it.

Hi, PQ. I am always supportive of my friends and it does take a lot of sacrifice for her to juggle all that up. I am happy that you have also made it. I am sure your sacrifices have been fruitful as well. Thank you for your response, PQ.
