It seems that finally my treatment is going to start. I have had to do a lot of paperwork because in my country chemo is covered mostly by the government. But Tomorrow I will finally go maybe for 1 or 2 days so they do a biopsy of my bone marrow, another MRI and place a catheter fot the chemo.
I will miss you, friends, as I don´t have a laptop to take to the hospital. But A friend of mine brought me a book that looks awesome: The chalice and the sword. Not that I know if I´ll have time or interest in reading. That bone marrow thing sounds like torture, even if thy do it under anesthesia.
I´ll see what this bend in the road brings. I´ll write when I´m back.
HUGS to all my friends.

I'm glad to hear that you are finally get the biopsy done on your bone marrow and that they are going to place a catheter for chemo. That is great because I'd hate to have to get an IV done for every treatment. I had a port placed while I was in the hospital so that they could use it throughout chemo. Now that I am done with most of it, I don't know what is going to happen. In fact, I am waiting on the doctor right now and I might know more later on. Have a great week!!!

Where did they put the catheter? I think I would take it easy for a while until the catheter has been in place for a while. I hope that it hurries up and stops hurting. I was not at home when someone tried to call from University Physicians so I don't know if they were trying to make an appointment or if they were trying to get money from me. I got the message in the evening so I couldn't call them back yesterday. I went to the ER today because I have been having shortness of breath which was probably related to being out of shape because of chemo. They didn't find anything heart related so they said to check back with my doctor next week. I guess that now I wait. I hope that I don't find anything else bad when I go in next week.

Hi Debbie,
I am going to make a post about my 4 days at the hospital, but they weren´t as bad as I thought. The catheter hurts, in part because it was done only 2 days ago and in part because I decided to do all the laundry this morning. Hanging the clothes was the bad part.
Do tell me how you are doing.

Having health problems when you know you have to be away from home, your routine, and myLot can be hard. When I was in the hospital a couple of weeks ago even when my husband brang my laptop in, he forgot the battery so it was no help for me.

It's fear of the unknown that always gets us. Once you have done this you will find that you can give it the proper place in your worry list. WE all have one, even those that claim they don't worry. Blessings and prayers go with you.

Wow, I hope that you do okay with all of those things. From what Tom told me, the worst thing about the bone marrow biopsy is when they actually get to the bone because they have to drill into the bone. However, he said it wasn't all that bad overall.
With his port-a-cath placement, he got really anxious during it because they don't knock you out. So, if you think that you are going to have bad anxiety, make sure they give you some Ativan before placement. Also, it does hurt after placement, but they don't send you home with pain meds, so that is something that kind of stinks. Keep us updated.

Hello marguicha!
Women have strong tolerance for pain.
We can withstand the pains of giving birth and can bravely face the challenges of raising our children...
Hence, I do believe that you can deal with that "torture" thing.
I hope everything will turn out favorable to you!
By the way, I think reading great books is a nice idea to kill the time.
See you again...
