I always wonderd if the man kind is monogamous or not??? Is monagamy imposed by the religion and the culture or it is natural thing encoded in our DNA. I ask that because in my life I have met many people that have very big problem with monogamy. No matter how hard they try they just cant stay with one partner. It is just enough for them. I have met and the other type of people who are very conservative in their realationships. And I can't stop wondering which one is the natural way of human existance. What do you think on the matter? Are you monogamous or not? Do you think that polygamy is a bad thing?

Monogamy is really a choice: to be honest with yourself and your partner because monogamy involves feelings, respect and trust that you have around you middle, at least I see a relationship. If you reduce everything to instinct if I do not know where the feelings remain. The fact is that betrayal made ??by any of the partners or man or woman is what hurts most is that which arises then doubt, uncertainty, jealousy and all negative feelings. A lot of people wrong, even thinking, but the passage to action is a choice, that to betray the other and everything was built together, the idea is that people betray, believing that they will not be caught or do it because they lack dignity to express openly what they want.
To conclude: Being monogamous is a matter of choice, decision. After all, everyone has the right to live life as he wish,as he can, as he believes, and finally, how he feels.Have a nice day!

I think as animals, polygamy is in our genes. Look around you in the animal world and its polygamous / polyandrous everywhere. However, being intellectually superior and having an inclination to a civilized social life superior to animals, man has found monogamy to be much better and hence most religions espouse monogamy.
I am monogamous and yes, I do think polygamy is a bad thing with lot of physical and psychological implications which can be avoided.

Humans and monogamy? Why ?!
How many roosters you need for 2 dozens of hens? How many billy-goats for a dozen of goats? How many rams for 20 sheeps? How many oxs for 20 cows? How many lions are required for up to 10 lionesses?
Well ?
Natural way? NATURAL !?!?!?!?
The natural way is the way with no external influences or interferrences. Be them religious, social, whatever.
Only the self judgement.
One can not accept that as a fact? Is hard to belive this IS the NATURE way?
Well, nature did not include religion nor belifs.
Yet nature include education. Nature include getting older and getting experience, which mean becoming able to take own decisions.
90% of culture is related to religions, there for suspected to be not education tru getting experience, but enforcing certain life standards and ideals.
So, what is left to guide humans into one way or another?
The will.
One WANT to be in that group, in that space and then she/he accept the society/group/place rules. Until is agree, he can stay there. When disagree, is free to go.
Anything else is blowing in the wind.

Polygami is not bad thing and even in religion, polygami is allowed as long as the husband can welfare for all her wife.In this case, wife will be so much appreciate by God if can accept the husband marry again with other woman. But, it's really need big heart for woman to accept his husband marry other woman.I don't know what the reason of most man don't doing polygami and choose monogamous, but it may some reason such as faithful, not so familiar with this issue, not ready for big responsible, and the last one is no choice, lol :D
And finally I choose monogamous because I don't have big heart and don't want to be the second best.

I suppose on the lowest genetic and instinctive level we are designed to be polygamous like most animals are in order to increase their chances of passing on their genes.Human beings try to be monogamous due to a sense of morality replacing the instinct to breed however this may be wrong humans may actually designed to be monogamous as some animals like swans mate for life and this definitely not down to any kind of religious morality i think it is to stop inbreeding which is likely in small animal populations if their instinct is to breed with any and as many partners as possible.
