Financial Freedom?

I thought being rich is the main goal of every individual but I was wrong. Not everyone wants to be rich however every one wants to have financial freedom. Financial freedom is in a state that you will never get hungry in your life, that you need not longer work cause you have enough savings for a lifetime. It means that you spent way less than you earn (If you spent almost everything you earn you are under stress but if you spent more than you earn then you are in distress) and then you harvest what you sow. I like the thought of being financially free rather than being rich coz money and possessions have never produced genuine happiness. Any ideas you like to share?

I definitely would like to be financially free myself. It means not needing to worry on what will I eat or spend for the rest of my life. I know we will achieve financial freedom if we are willing to delay gratification and work hard at first and then reap what we sow after. I've read somewhere that the power of compounding will do the trick. That's why networking or mlm is a trend nowadays. We need to put aside money and time to build our network and then work for a little more. Afterwards money will work for us. This is not like the typical work and get paid situation where you work and you get paid, if you dont work then you dont get paid. Here, we need to work and work and work and then get paid and work and work then get paid, then later on get paid, get paid, get paid, without having to work anymore. I'm still looking for a legit Multilevel Company that i can trust and I hope i'll be able to find one .

No one realises that the rich may not be financially independent and you have put it aptly. Possessions do not mean that they will provide one their daily bread. Everyone must strive to be financially independent even of their children. Financial independence ensures dignity and respect in society.

I'd like to have financial freedom by being able to do what I wanted. Have ever since I became a single fulltime parent have to calculate how to make the most of a small amount of money. Along with having money living in this society a good health is very important to have.

I agree that being rich doesn't always make people happy although it may seem that way at first. For me I would feel happier if I had a few financial choices rather than none at all. I'd like being able to choose in putting aside $ for my kids future in funds that will grow and make their lives easier rather than not having any savings whatsoever for them. Even if I can only save $5,000 per kid, that may get them through a year or so at a community college and give them time to make $$ on their own.
Be well!

I think your right you do reap what you sow, but I would say you have to spend money to make money. So it is a cycle which very few will ever escape, you have to pay for fuel to drive to work to earn money to pay for fuel to drive to work.
I understand that there are ways of saving money but in the long run you won't see the benefits of them until you no longer need money. As you grow old the value of money changes. In your prime your working money means a lot to you but as you reach your 60's it become worthless you take the stance that you can't take it with you so why save it?
I have seen poverty and I have seen affluence but nether will make you happy or sad it depends on the person in that environment. A homeless man may not have no money to eat but he never has to be anywhere by certain times. He controls his path of life, in comparison a person born in to wealth is told how to act and react.
In the end life is just swings and roundabouts you just choose which ride you want to be on.

I have always believed that being rich means more problems and bigger expenses. Don't you think so too? When you do not have enough, you only worry about food and other basic necessities. If you are rich, you have to spend on other stuff like car maintenance, big household maintenance, bigger utility bills...et cetera. And once you commit a mistake in your investments, it is very possible for you to lose everything.
Thus, you are right in saying that financial freedom is better. I have yet to reach that status. I hope someday I will.
Good luck to us Have a nice day!

Yes very true, I am doing a Financial planning course and we are always thought about the savings and investments, which today for a common man is a very necessary need. If you are rich and have lot of money but if you cannot make the proper use of money than brother you are in big trouble. Our saving should be more enough than earnings. We should save a lot for our future. We have been seeing inflation rising and any time crises can arise or there can be a sudden need of money, we should always be ready for this and this can be achieved only through financial freedom. A person is said to be happy when he is free from his finances and doesn't need to take care of his children and his wife because he has enough savings. So getting apart from the financial planning studies. I strongly feel that instead of being rich we should rather save a lot and be financially free.

I really do not want to be rich. I just want to have enough in the bank that if there is a big expense, like my transmission that needs to be fixed, i can make that repair and still have some money in the bank. My husband and I are only saving about $50 a month if we are lucky. $25 going to our savings and the rest going to our daughters education fund.
I want to have enough in the bank to be able to retire comfortably and not have to worry that I will be a burden on my child.

I agree...I think being rich can't make you happy. There are so many things that are more important than money like freedom, time spent with your family, spiritual being and the likes.Rich people may not have the same freedom that ordinary people have.Maybe you can't roam around without body guards. They are busy thinking about their money, businesses, properties that they may not have enough time for their family.
Financial freedom would be enough for me.I'm hoping for that time that I don't really need to work yet I'm still earning and have passive income through investments.Maybe I can have my own business that I'll not be the an employee but the proprietor.Well, they said that you can only have financial freedom if you are financially literate. You should be knowledgeable on how to save, spend and invest your money.I'm not yet fully knowledgeable about it but I hope I can have it one day.

I agree with this! I want to be financially free! My thought on this is that money is just a construct of man. Therefore it should not be the main focus of our life here. It is just an instrument used for living, thus you don't need much of it. The main point to be considered is security in life and that is why many people are working for money. If we get the right amount of money to fill up our security then being greedy for money won't be good anymore. Financial freedom is just like filling your security while being rich is just for showing off which is, I think, an insecurity.

I agree Financial Freedom is what I am after. Being rich cannot make you happy, matter of fact I know someone who is rich per say and he is the most lonely unhappy person I have seen...I just want to know food is there, there's a nice roof over my head and if we need something it will be there for us. I don't want to have millions, I just want enough where I don't have to struggle every day of my life!
