The cloud is an internet .Cloud computing refers to regulating a internet as a module program ,for example -
icloud is an online computer ,like an operating system running in the cloud with AJAX based remote web desktop.
The collaborative icloud internet service makes it possible for people to work and do fun things together.
Apple`s cloud service will be in competition with similar services from Google and Amazon that have been recently announced .
Any other recent update ?

I think iCloud by it means just online storage service from Apple. Apple just modified the predecessor of mobileme, which provide the similar service of online storage for contact, email, and other information. So, you might need to double check your definition of iCloud service though. I hope that you will gain further information that is worthwhile.
