I study at art-school, and one of the hints i can give you is to try to reduce every image to a simple schema. if you want to draw an apple for instance, use a light pencil to draw a circle, and use darker pencils to add detail, and change the shape a bit. then try to add schades and details. another technique is to use your eyes to mesure objects, according to another object around it. for this, you have to try and look at the world as if it is a flat image. a third technique is to use a different material, you should try to build up an image consisting of just shades and light.

I am not at all good in drawing and i dont even understand those pictures or portrays which are done by great artists. It was really a tough test when i was at school , it was hard to draw and get coloured exactly.Either i made a huge one or a very tiny one.Till today i didnt learn anything with drawing. However last year i done a project for a school child of fourth standard ,it was like asking to draw Indian map and showing up the states ,got them coloured withe the exact things.I done it right and i made a big chart of it.I felt really happy as i did not know that i could do such a drawing.

I love to draw! I have read many books on the subject and I truly believe that anyone can learn to draw. There are a few technical things to learn that help greatly and of course as with any art form or skill, the key is practice! I try to draw something every day even if it's just a small sketch to keep my skill up, it's sort of like exercise that if you get too out of practice it is a lot harder. But I would encourage anyone who is interested to practice and try to learn, if you keep plugging away you will be able to do it, and the more you learn, the more there is to explore and continue to learn!
