I'm a woman with NO skirt in my wardrobe!

Malaysia
July 5, 2011 12:41pm CST
Yesterday, I was cleaning my wardrobe. I have found some old clothes that I have fogotten to wear them, some under garment which already loses it's elasticity, and also dead cockcroaches (just kidding). No cockroches, just some dead lizards...LOL (no, just kidding again). Suddenly, I thought to myself, how come there ain't any skirts in my wardrobe? Have I been wearing pants and trousers all the time????? Am I the only woman in the world who wears only pants???! If you think I am the only woman, please shout at me!

I can almost see it...jacklin without those pants....but wait...with no skirts on too? How can that be? How can that be? Is it my lucky day? Nah...she wears dresses. That explains why no skirts. Throw those pants away as well, Jackie. Then your popularity will shoot through the roofs, but keep those dresses on.

Hi jacklintan, You have an amazing sense of humor! Have you ever think if you link or hate wearing a skirt? I have lots of skirts but I just wear them once a year, I guess! I don't like wearing them.. I feel more comfortable wearing trousers and shorts! :D

You are not the only woman who doesn't wear skirts. I don't wear them either . The last time I wore a dress was in 2002. I wear jeans All the time. And my mom hated dresses too. when she was younger she wore them but by the time I came along , she wore only pants. In fact we buried her in pants , not a dress. We didn't want her to haunt us!

It does not matter if you are missing your skirt. There would be many who do not have skirts or do not like wearing skirts. You can make do with outer outfits.

I am not very fond of wearing skirts either. Had it not been that we have a skirt for our uniform, i wouldn't be wearing them. I find it more comfortable to ride those public transport in my pants. Though, there are some skirts in my wardrobe that has been there for quite a long time already. On occasions where we are to wear a dress, i borrow from my friends.

I beg to differ with you! I rarely wear dresses. I bought two dresses for my vacation and didn't even wear them. Being overweight I think it would be better if I did but I am just out of the routine. And I will have to start wearing them because I have so many accumulated.

jazel, Don't let your husband stop you from wearing pretty clothings. You deserved it. It's a woman's nature to look beautiful. They should wake up from their "sleep" :P

Hi Jackie, If there really are cockcroaches and lizards in your wardrobe, then I really don't know what to think about you. Maybe you are more comfortable with wearing pants than skirts. Sometimes it is more convenient wearing pants as it goes well with rubber shoes. If you wear a skirt, you would have to go with high heels which makes it will be inconvenient to run up the stairs or chase after a bus, hehe! Get what I mean? Lucky thing is that nowadays, most offices are not so strict with their office dress code, so you can wear whatever suits you to work, except of course for shorts and t-shirts.

i like dresses and skirts because i think they look pretty, and i have them lots in my wardrobe, but the problem is i mever wear them. partly because its a lot more trouble to wear a skirt, whereas trousers are easy. i do think though that sometimes its nice to dress up and look pretty. my fantasy business idea, that i will never actually do, is to organise social events where we can dress up all posh. because i find part of the problem is that there just isn't anywhere to go that needs me to dress up to look nice. but then we can wear trousers and look smart or pretty too. this is an interesting thing. as it seems like at some point in the late 1950s early 1960s there was all this pressure on women to look their best, and be all feminine, but now it has gone the other way. i think wearing trousers if we prefer them is fine, but then again i also thinks its nice to dress up and look pretty sometimes too.

Hi. Recently, I'd been shopping for some dresses. The most obvious reason is, I have too many trousers and have been wearing trousers for ages. Trousers are great when I lead a fast forward working life and I need not worry about being peep underneath my skirt while sitting, what's more staining myself every month! lol I attribute this discussion to all of you, and happy to say, many of you do think of the same thing like I did. Glad to say, I still have my feminine side to explore and therefore I same like you did. Thanks for the response and hope to hear from you again. Cheers~

No you're not the only woman with only pants in her wardrobe and no skirts or dresses, there are plenty out there. I, for one, do have a few different skirts and some dresses but still prefer to wear mostly pants if I can. I do have times where long dresses and such are my preference too.

I hate dresses and skirts! I only wear pants (long pants at that). I think I did have one dress I got when my sister got married, but I left that in China when I came back to America for medical treatment and I found out yesterday that my niece and nephew didn't keep any of the clothes I left behind so now I don't even have one dress.

Oh no you are not the only one. I have many female officemates who do not wear skirts and in fact wearing skirts to them is something they would not dare. It is as if they would look stupid or funny if they do wear one. Well, well, to each his own anyway. So what is comfortable to you and whatever makes you feel you look better then go and wear. But as for me I have always remembered that skirts are for female and pants are for males. Now if by call of circumstances I'd wear pants mostly so as to protect myself or make things easier for me that does not mean I should forget wearing skirts on appropriate times like when going to church or when going anywhere that would not require me to climb or run. In fact skirts are becoming and I really wonder why some women would choose to wear pants that would almost always show how unshapely their butts and hips are.
• Malaysia
7 Jul 11
hi salonga, I wouldn't mind showing my butt and hips eventhough they're not model looked butt! LOL I just can't help myself posting this online coz I thought I have too little dresses and skirts, and wonder to myself if this is abnormal for woman like me. Anyway, whatever comfortable for you, just go for it. ;)

Lots of women wear pants. I think pants have become the normal these days. I remember back in the 80's more girls wore skirts, but even then they wore pants more and more. SO you are not the only one that just wears pants. If you want to wear skirts, then wear them. I think a woman looks good in a skirt.

Skirts are great to have, they're cool and comfortable, you should invest in some, absolutely! It's also great to have dresses, because you don't have to worry about matching a top with pants or a skirt, you can just throw on a dress. As a matter of fact, I really don't have any shorts in my wardrobe, except for going to the beach in the summer. Of course, I have pants and long jeans for the winter, but I love having a break from pants in the summer. Even if you're not into short skirts, long, flowy skirts are pretty easy to wear.

hi baby, I was thinking the same thing about wearing long flowy skirts. Hmm..but im abit short and plump at the moment. I wonder if I wear long flowy skirts, will i look shortie? hehehe
