Don't post a discussion for DISCUSSION SAKE

Many of new comers and few of the older members are posting few discussions for just posting discussion sake...
i think there should be some MATTER to discuss or some POINTS to be learn by other members or some INFORMATION to share among members...what do you say?

I say you are right, but odds are we will go blue in the face before we actually see it happen. To your list, I would add "an actual g-d honest question."
Of course, the sad part is that on occasion, I have thought of something, used the search tool to see if the topic was someplace up here, found nothing, posted, then discovered that there were similar topics---so one cannot even be sure who is duplicating and not caring, and who cares and got fooled by the search tool.
But I think that is actually a low percentage of the duplicates that we see around here. I am a happy little cynic, ain't I?

We don't tell people what to make for a discussions. They are given freedom to do so as long as they are not violating any myLot rules. If you find some discussions to be nothing, don't response as some people may find it interesting. People have varied interest and how they go about it. We don't prejudice people by the discussion they make!

I totally agree with you. Some people might find the topics interesting while others might find it nonsense or doesn't make any sense.. For me, I just respond to the topics that i might find interesting and have knowledge of.. I also found that I have zero knowledge of other topics posted by other people.. but it doesn't mean that the topics are rubbish.. some other people might find that the topics are great and in their field of knowledge to respond to..
