Oh i need Expertise Assistance with windows blue screen error (atapi.sys)

I recently formatted my computer using a windows Xp service pack2 operating sytem and since then i have been getting a blue screen error every time i start it up. Its real embarrassment especially when customers want a quick service. The Problem quotes atapi.sys as a tag in the error and when i seek assistance from windows am unable to find any relevant solution. could be you know the solution or might have come across this error what do you think i should do to clear this from my system. All i need is to have this error out of my system.

Try booting the pc in safe mode. then replace the atapi.sys from the windows cd. This might be happening because the file atapi.sys is infected.... If replacing gets your pc booted properly, they go for a virus scan with an up to date antivirus :) hope this helps.

All this i have tried and the worst is this I can not get to the safe mode for it, the blue screen comes after i have booted my computer. Any more information will help me overcome it

Hmm...A few things that i do when i get these blue screen error is, check the RAM,just remove them from the slot, wipe off any dust and then fix them back into the slots properly.
If that doesnt help, It might be because of a virus for sure.
And the easiest way to get around viruses is a system format.
If you have important data that you dont want to loose by formatting, then try booting the PC with a linux live cd. and replace the atapi.sys file and maybe perform a virus check.then boot the pc back through windows XP.
Do try these and tell me if this works :)

Have you ever been disappointed by all things.there ir nothing among these i have not tried. The last was a complete format but when i installed a printer from hp the problem came back. The printer is crucial here used to print documents. Shall i do away with it? Quite hard. I dont really know the source of corruption
