Friends I mean? I have well over 100. And we do try and keep up with one another. In fact it has become the number one way my family and I communicate. This given that we are spread out all over the country. However, I have seen folks with 300-400 "friends". Is it possible to keep up with that many individuals?

Hi ersmommy, Yes its possible, say the school friends, colleges, colleagues and relatives. You can get more of those friends. But I hardly have 100+ and more than that also possible.

Yes, I do have quite a few friends on facebook but when I come to think about this though I have to say that they are gaming friends. To play a lot of the games on facebook you need gaming friends. I only have several friends on facebook that I'm really close to. It's very difficult to stay in touch with everyone but I suppose it's a good thing that you have the wall and you can post any updates in relation to your life and all your friends become aware of that.
One thing I do remember though is their birthdays, it's important to always remember birthdays! Andrew

I would never have the time to keep up with alot of people in Facebook. I know alot of people enjoy it but I just do not want the world to read what I have going on in my life. My family lives close so we do not need to stay in contact through Facebook. I am glad that it works well for you though.

I think I have just over 400 friends. It seems like a lot but I know every one on my list. A lot are from school, some from my class, some from younger or older classes. I also have a lot of family that lives far away and I don't see very often. I don't really keep up with all of them, but it's nice to have them there in case I would need to get in touch with someone.

I only have a 100 something. I don't keep up with everyone as that's really impossible. I don't mind reading the posts if they post and commenting but I don't know what everyone is up to. And frankly I'm not real willing to add too many more people as we all end up unfriending eventually and with some being co-workers that's just awkward.

Having 300-400 friends may seem like to many but if you know that many people. I don't see it a problem. When we write on our status it is for all the ones on our friend list. If they care to comment they will and we can comment on their status. It let's us keep in touch with people we seldom contact.

Well i have also around 120 friends. Though I don't stay in touch with all of them, some of them are my college mates whom I see in college every now and then. Some are old school friends with whom I have a short chat sometimes when I have time...Well one thing for sure I don't have any stranger as my facebook friend. Whenver there's a new friend request I start a message chat with them and after that I add them if I think they are my friend.

You know it's funny that you have this topic here. I have over 200 friends and many of them I never even talk to. It's weird. I have often wondered what importance it is that we know what a few of our closest high school friends (said sarcastically) are doing all day long. I mean over half the people I wasn't even really friends with in school but now we are connected on facebook like we were long lost buds! Hmmm??

Even with 100 friends there are always going to be people you never talk to, if everyone only kept the friends they actually talked to we'd all have no more than 30. A lot of people tie in having friends with feeling popular or their social self esteem.

I used to have a lot of friends on Facebook, but then I did this big massive cleaning. I removed a lot of people that I didn't really know & now I just have CLOSE family & friends only. I don't want people I hardly know knowing any of my business except those few close family & friends that I have.
