Job market in India picks up June 2011

It is a good news for people in India and also for other countries because automatically this reflects in western countries also.
Hiring activity picked up significantly last month, with increased employment opportunities in the IT and ITeS sectors, says Naukri.com.
Indicating better labour market conditions, Naukri.com''s Job Speak Index rose 4 per cent in June, compared to May. Compared with June last year, the index climbed as much as 19 per cent.
The index is an indicator of monthly demand for jobs online.
According to leading job portal Naukri.com, both the IT and ITES sectors'' indices climbed 12 per cent last month in comparison to May. "Key functional areas like software services and sales registered an upward movement in hiring activity in June," it said in a statement.
Further, recruitment activity improved in the pharma, biotech and insurance sectors

It is always a Good sign when the Job market picks up a little no matter where you are at. This could be a sign of good things to come. I know here in the US jobs are still harder to come by and a lot of places are still laying people off. Luckily I have a job I have been at for about 5 yrs, even though most days things are far from the Best.

YES. Probably due to your ill health you have issues. do not leave the job. Attend to the maximum extent possible. God will guide you and help u recover from your illness.

Thanks for the Best Response and as for jobs, it really depends on where you live and what type of Job you are trying to get as there are still loads of people loosing their jobs and homes everyday, and I have friends who have been unemployed now for a couple of yrs. in some areas with no hope for anything in site.

I also heard some information about some governments also trying to layoff people in usa. Because of automation jobs have come down very much. One side you find rich people growing richer in USA as in other countries. contrasting situation.

This is a truly good news! I am happy that India's unemployment rate had dropped significantly over a year. I hope that this improvement/ development will continue to rise as years goes by.

Unemployment rates continues to be the same on account of increasing job aspirants. but position is not discouraging. Main reason is population is more, work is more, needs are more things have to run.

I think the hiring activity at least in the technology industries has been pretty high in India for most of the last year. Some of the top companies though have used this opportunity to shed some of the overload by laying off under performing people. So that lead to a belief that companies were in strife. But the reality is that Indian companies are still growing at a healthy rate.

It is good news indeed when there are so many job opportunities for people. Here in our small city there is a job market which is open to the public about job information on the 8th and 18th every month. A lot of people find their jobs there. Also this kind of job-offering information in our city is announced on the web, making it convenient for people. Have a good day, friend.

Yes. J0b market in India is picking up. Students get job offers even before their completing the degree. Mainly due to IT industry. I am happy I am also helping a good number of people through blogs.( details in profile)
China -- also is improving very well thanks mainly due to hard work put in by its workers.

That is great news and a good step in the right direction. I do hope all in all countries also get some benefits from the increase in the economy. Time will tell for all, but not sure how quickly it will happen, at least here.
I think it is wonderful that the job market picks up as there are many eager, experienced and willing employees wanting to be hired.

yes. at least when people are positive and hopeful the sorrow may be less for individuals. USA also things should improve if only more money is spent by the government on developmental activities.

Yes, its good news for Indian job seekers who are seeking jobs. the growth compared to last year is definitely a good sign. one need to see if this job growth spreads to other sectors too. if that happens across various sectors, then it is a good sign for the economy and country.
