I usually write when I'm free at my work place. Whenever I feel I am free I will log in to MyLot and also some other site where I usually write.
I have most of my free time when I am working night shift. But whenever I'm working night shift, I feel I just couldn't write. The idea just not flowing.
I even found it is hard to participate in MyLot. Maybe it is because our brain are program to rest during night.
I wonder how I can keep my ideas flowing during night. What did you do when you're in the same situation?

I think I'm a bit strange because I get more ideas when the day is heading towards its end. During day time, my brain just freezes, I guess this is psychological because i'm thinking that there's a lot of time to participate later anyway. I'm the type of person who gets motivated when pressured by a deadline!
Anyway, i made a discussion about brain freeze a few days ago and one mylotter suggested browsing the search engine for discussions in mylot then start reading them, as they could give us ideas on how to start our own.
Or maybe you could just call it a night, rest your brain and then be active again the next day!

I rest when I'm in that situation. It helps to take a little bit of nap. Or just rest your mind and don't force yourself in doing something you're not in the mood of doing. Take a short break... As others say, free your mind. Then once you start typing something on your word pad, you would notice that things are a lot clearer than before. Ideas will start flowing and that's what makes you write something you would be proud of at the end of the day. Our minds can only take so much and they have limits we should take into consideration.

I tend to drink energy drinks and use stumbleupon.com to help me generate new ideas. It sends you to random sites that are linked to your interests. It always gets my idea's flowing.

I would also suggest don't push yourself. Sometimes stopping the pursuit helps as achieve our goal. When I face such situations I usually stop trying for the moment, do something else instead. You can listen to music or have some other entertainment(it helps) or search or look up something or read something online or offline. Try it with a cup of coffee I hope it helps.
