My actually acquired our cat by surprise. I was in a different town at a library. When I came out there was a cute little kitten walking across the parking lot. He scurried along and actually went underneath my car and climbed in there somewhere. I tried finding him and getting him to come out but to no avail. I had to drive to another town store and to pick my husband up from work. When I got to my husband's job i told him about the kitten. He searched and actually said he didn't believe a kitten was under there. Sowe drove home and i parked in our parking area so he wouldn't get hit by a car. I got my husband to come out and he finally believed me. He got the kitten out with some chicken and we've had the little monster ever since. I'm so happy he did not get hurt being under the car like that.

That's very interesting. You know, here is my story how I got my pet, a cat. I wanted to have a cat at home. So, one day I went to a Humane Society where they keep pet animals for people who want to take. I walked into the room where they kept cats. As I walked in, only one cat meowed when she saw me coming in, and all others made no sound at all. I felt that's the one I am meant to take. She is still living in my house now, very happy and really very naughty girl.

That is neat how you got your cat. Cats can tend to get into a lot of trouble. I know ours does. It seems like he loves getting into trouble. Whenever we tell him not to do something he still does it. We love him none the less even though he drives us crazy at times.

I think a can of tuna would have worked too! We had been thinking about getting a dog for a while. Shortly after my daughter's 3rd birthday, our home was burglarized. After the break in, we went to the Humane Society and found and fell in love with our Sophie. She is a fantastic addition to our family. It's nice to have such a wonderful gift come from a scary event.

That is diffinitely a scary event. We would get a dog if something like that happened to us. Having a dog does make things so much better, we feel a lot more secure with a dog. Right now we don't have a dog but I would like to get one eventually. It's just that they do require a lot of time and attention. We are so busy that we just don't have the time to devote to them what they deserve. When we do I'm sure we will get one. I want one of those Japanese dogs like hachi. They seem to be awesome dogs. Thanks so much for sharing your story.

That's very sweet. Glad you saved the cat!
I don't have any exciting stories about my babies (pets). Most were rescued from the animal shelter or acquired from a friend. Our Layla and Allie (dogs) were found in the animal shelter when we decided we wanted a new pet. My dad's dog was picked up from a rescue society. They had the dogs at a pet store one day and we weren't going to get a dog, but he was too sweet. My cat was purchased at a pet store 16 years ago (she sadly passed last month). And our duck was adopted at a fair! Regardless of how we got them, we them all the same!

That is so awesome the amount of pets you've had and how you have come to get them. Pets are really great. And getting them from the animal shelter is great as well. There are so many animals that need homes and animal shelters have a lot of animals. Sorry to hear that your cat passed away. You had her for a long time. Thanks so much for sharing your story.

I was sitting on my porch one day and a kitten come from across the street. It came up in my front yard. When I tried to get close to it it would run. It was a sad looking little thing. All straggly and skinny looking. I went into the house and got some lunch meat to try and get it to let me pick it up. There was no doin. I ended up just putting the launch meat down and walking away.
They next morning I got up and looked outside and it was laying on my porch swing.
I very slowly walk outside and eased my way over to the swing. I very calmly sat down on the opposite side. I waited a few minutes and then very slowly reached over and started petting it. The next thing I new it was on my lap. I took it into the house feed and gave it a bath. Took it to the vet the next day. That was ten years ago and I still have him. He is big fat and lazy. LoL

Lol, I absolutely love your story. That is awesome. There are so many pets out there that are homeless and sad looking. That is why we decided to keep our kitten. We were playing on going to a shelter to get one. But we found this one and this one needed a home right then and there. We also took ours to the vet right away. I'm happy that your cat is now fat and lazy. That is how it should be. Every now and then when my husband and I see a kitten outside we try and figure out if it has a home. I'm so happy that we've found that they do because I keep telling him we can't take in every stray it would kill our pocketbook with the vet bills and we would have a house full of cats.

My pet is a Labrador and his name is Job.My close friend gave it to me.My friend let me choose what dog I want to take care of. I supposed to choose the first dog but he want me to have the Labrador dog.I never regret to have my Job because he is so loving and he always bark every time a stranger is around the house.I really don't like having a pet with cats but we had a lot of cats at the backyard and I don't know where they came from. I just feed them because I can see that they are always starving because they always try to get some food to my dog.

Dogs are absolutely wonderful. I'm glad that you have a good dog. It's always nice when a dog let's us know that strangers are near. At this time we don't have a dog but I hope to get one in the near future. They are a lot of work and right now we don't have the time that's needed to devote them. Perhaps in the near future.

That is good to hear. I guess most of us has their own pet story. I had a pet before. It is a little fish. I forgot what type of fish it was. I just put him into a little aquarium and I just woke up one day and found him lying on the floor. I guess y pet jumped out from the water. It took me by surprise to find him outside his cage and I can't help but cry. I cried a lot in the office and been missing my pet. Ever since he passed away, I never though of buying another pet because of the pain it has caused me. Well, rest in peace mx. I hope to hear a lot of different pet stories here.
