I never got that email, I'm verified and use their services every week. Might be a phishing scam, so best check it out as the other poster suggested.

Either a fact or scam. I will still rely on the site itself rather than from an email. Thanks for responding.

@Masihi, it's not a phishing scam. Check if you have set your preferences to received periodical updates with paypals newsletters and product updates. If you have set it to yes, you would be receiving such letter. I received the letter last June 30 and it has my complete name on it and i have verified it from paypal.

Oh, okay, just have my guard up. I don't have my preferences set to receive their newsletter, so I do apologise for sounding the alarm, but one can never be super-careful in this day and age.

Have you set your preferences to receive emails from paypal with regards to their newsletter and product updates?

Paypal would also put a note on the website if they were doing this. No such email hit my inbox and I've been using Paypal for about 7 years now. Be careful with emails such as this, you never know what they'll try to do to you. Check the sender email carefully as well, if it doesn't come from Paypal, then it's not real.

@toniganzon I received paypal's newsletter from time to time, but as you have mention many time in this discussion, people who did not received it is because they did not set preference to receive newsletter. I believe mine have set to receive newsletter since I always receive newsletter from Paypal, but until today, I have not receive such a letter concerning the change of paypal's email address. And from most of the responses here, only a few people have received such a letter and I really doubt how true it is. It is better to check or verify with paypal website.

The reason why you didn't receive the mail is because your preferences must not have been set to receive newsletters and product updates from paypal. I have received the same because i set my preferences to receive such. I am pretty sure it is from paypal because paypal sent the letter addressing me by my first and last name. According to paypal when they send a letter it has the full name of the user and they never use generics like Dear Paypal members! So i am assured that it's from paypal. Check your preferences and you will see that you are not set to receive newsletters.

I have PAYPAL for many years now and I have never received a legitimate email explaining this. Of course I have received tons of spam messages with PAYPAL in it. May I know which PAYPAL country is this?

I have not received such an email so it must be directed towards a certain country or countries. Maybe PayPay have opened a new branch in Singapore to service those users in South east Asia?? I'm not sure what you mean by, it's a good start for them

Are u sure? .com.sg? It means it's coming from singapore?? I think it's mainly for users who are checking or using their services via mobile phones, and that explains the e in the link.. haha =D Other than that, everything is normal, and this just makes it convenient for mobile users like me and majority of people out there

Oh dear be careful! I did not receive that same mail. If indeed Paypal would be changing email address they should have sent the notification to all its members. So that one you you received could be a scam. They surely would want to know you password so they could invade your account. Oh no! Be careful dear. Go on and double check!

The email address that they changed is the email for the distribution system. Not all members will receive this email unless you have set your preferences to receive periodical newsletters and product info from them. It's a legitimate letter. I have confirmed it and i received the same last June 30.

I did receive the same email too. But I never care about this email because I were worrying to be trapped as a victim of fraud email. Many fault cases were happened in my country because of fraud emails. The bank account holders lost certain amount in their bank accounts in this incident. I hope other paypal members should be seek further verification from the paypal of such change.

I doubt the message is real, most likely it's some sort of spam or phishing to get your address or some info about your account. It's quite unlikely that PayPal would send such a mails, often the companies don't even tell what address they use for sending mails, just use some of their own domain. Personally, I always received mails from them from sendmail@paypal.com so I doubt if the message really came from PayPal.

Actually I noticed that on my last e-mail from them earlier this morning. That is definitely an upgrade needed for them.

Hi! I have the paypal account but I have not received such an email till today. I have also very sure that I can received newsletter from Paypal because I have received a numbers of newsletter from Paypal from time to time. Since it is just a change of email address, I don't think that will be a very big deal or any problem to the user. So, if it is true, I will just accept it as a normal things.

If I were you, I would do some serious checking before accessing these 2 site. I never received the E-mail. I just checked. Someone may be trying to gain access to your person information. I've received things like this before. However, they were not on my PayPal e-mail. So I knew they were bogus. Best Wishes!
