Well, I remember in our school, there's an unexpected phenomena that I can't forget..
It's 1 pm, and my professor is teaching.. when the fire alarm rang, then our teacher said "CALM!!!" while the students outside are running and shouting.. jumping in the window, searching for the fire exit..
While me, my professor and classmates .. put our hands on head, and run.. besides the ground area is near in our room.
Thank God, there's no one in my classmates were harmed.

At my old school, every teacher knew where the closest door was so that they could get the students outside of the building as quickly as possible. There was a fire exit procedure paper posted in every classroom in case a substitute happened to be in when there was an emergency or a fire drill. All of the students were taught what to do when the fire alarm rang from the earliest grades and the procedure remained the same throughout our schooling. We had frequent drills in order to practice, so even if there was a fire, no one would panic because they would think it was a drill and calmly go outside. Also, we learned that it is important to close all doors and windows (to limit the oxygen in the building, starving the fire) and to face away from the building in case a window blows out and shattered glass flies away from the building.
