You are aware that you are dreaming and wanted to wake up but you can't scream, talk or even move any part of your body? and there would be times where your mind is awake but still in dream mode? Then you see people in your dreams, tried to get their attention, talk to them just to wake you up but you just cant do anything? A feeling of being paralyze in your dream..
Have you ever experienced this? It's so weird and scares me.

Nope, but in our chinese culture, we referred it as, "pinned by a ghost".. haha =D Meaning they are actually awake, they can feel yet they are not able to move their limbs nor shout or even make any noise. I dunno how true is that because there are researches done to prove it's caused by our muscles in the body.. haha =D

No, I haven't been in something like that. Sounds weird. Have you been in a dream like that?

Yes, several times. And it's so scary! It feels like your soul is separated from your body and traveling. When you woke up you feel heavy, tired and felt everything happened was real. You're partially aware that you're dreaming but you're having a hard time returning to your body.

hahaha That i do not know. You really want to try it don't you? For us who already experienced it it's already enough and wished it will not occur again.

Wow. Sounds freakishly weird. I'm interested on experiencing it, though. I bet there are other things you can do while you're on that state. Maybe you can act like a ghost or something while you're out of your body.

This happens to me but I can't remember the last time it happens.
This is nightmares, that you are in a situation in your dream like you are running away from someone but sub-consciously you know it's just a dream.
You know you are screaming but you can't hear your voice and you can't move.
I have many experiences like this, but not very often because i don't dream a lot.
Sometimes the last movie,or last thing you did in that day seems to continue in our dream.
It's nice to dream when it's a good dream,..but we fear of dreaming when it is a nightmare.

But my experience was so weird and i feel like my whole body was paralyze and when i woke up i see exactly what I've seen in my dream. My mom was there beside me reading and when i asked her if she heard me calling her name and struggling to wake up she told me i was in deep sleep. She find nothing unusual. So weird. I feel like my soul was separated in my body.

I had that dream too. It feels so real and when you wake up your damn exhausted. According to what i read, to dream that you fall and are frightened indicates a lack of control, insecurity, and/or lack of support in your waking life. You may be experiencing some major struggle and/or overwhelming problem. It may also imply that you have failed to achieve a goal that you have set forth for yourself.

Yes, yes, it happened to me before. It is so scary.
Some people said that it is sort of 'paralysed'.
Wanted to scream but no voice, try to move but
just could not. At times, some people felt there
is something heavy on their chest too.

Yes, it's like that you've been paralyzed. I researched it and they call it Dream Paralysis. I thought i was the only one experiencing this. After i posted this discussion I'm happy that so far i haven't encountered it again. I hope never.

Well, I did. I attempted it several times until i succeeded. I asked my mom when i woke up if she saw me struggling in waking up and she said i was in deep sleep so she didn't bother waking me up. When i woke up i'm sweating and my chinky eyes become big and round. I was so scared.

I normally experience this whenever I take a nap in the afternoon. It's so frustrating and scary when you think you could never wake up anymore and no one could hear your screams...
I don't take a nap in the afternoon anymore, unless I am sick and have to take a medicine...

Maybe because your body is tired? I read an article saying that this usually happened when the persons body and mind is exhausted and usually occurs at one of two times. If it occurs while you are falling asleep, it's called hypnagogic or predormital sleep paralysis. If it happens as you are waking up, it's called hypnopompic or postdormital sleep paralysis.

Yes, i had that kind of dream once, about few years back. It was really scary because everything seems so real. I'm worried if it's real and what's going to happen to me. I can feel myself awake, wide awake, i'm able to hear familiar voices, sounds around me, but i just can't seem to move or respond. IT's as if there's a rock on top of me, and i'm struggling to break away from it. Luckily, that weird feeling only last less than a minute, but somehow it feels like minutes to me.

I think it happens to many people, including me. Once I was dreaming when I was running and behind me was bull.
Then I got stuck near a staircase. I was not able to climb up the staircase. The bull was about five meters from me running towards me. I tried tried but never climbed up and the bull was also running and running but never reached me. I was so much terrified that I wanted to scream but was not able to scream.
I was locked in that dream and was not able to do anything.
Same thing happened to my mother once, she was calling me when I was sitting about 3m looking outside window. She asked me later why I didn't listen to her while she called my name so many time. I never heard any sound of her.

Yes, I have experienced this. It is very weird and scary. I always wake up drenched in sweat. When I was a child I would always start screaming for my mom when I woke up.
Have a Blessed Day

hi simonelee,
Your body was left behind when your soul came out from the body. That's why when you talk and responded with those around you, they just don't seems to get your attention.
I have felt it too, long time ago. I feel good to be invisible.
hahahaha

No i have not. In my dreams I always can control everything it is almost like i am dreaming but my mind is aware of everything going on. When ever i have a bad dream I can change it so i can over come the bad things. It is really cool!
Does any one else do the same thing?

It's LUCID DREAM. Where the dreamer can actively participate in and manipulate imaginary experiences in the dream environment. I also encountered this type of dream but i need a dream symbol for me to know that I'm already dreaming. Good for you where able to control your dreams. It's not common and it takes a lot of practice in able to total control it. You're blessed.

Yes, lot of times and I am so scared because I really wanted to move but I can't. I still saw some dolls moving above my head. Maybe, we are just too tired sometimes. We should really pray hard before we sleep.

Well, i experienced it when i fell asleep due to exhaustion that's why i was not able to pray. According to experts sleep paralysis usually occur when we fell asleep unconsciously and that is why I'm avoiding it.

It happened to me also especially those times that i feel starve or wanted to go to the bathroom to urinate. Glad i didn't pee on my bed. When i woke up my bladder is still full and often end up having Urinary Tract Infection. Everything was so real.

Yes we all have such kind of dreams in which we try to wake up but are unable to do so ,it seems like our body get jammed we can feel our legs and hand but are unable to move them like a paralytic condition .
But my dear friend there is nothing to fear about it because it is a normal phenomena which is like a counter balance method adopted by our brain when we suddenly wake from dream consciously but still our mind is in dreaming state that is all motor and sensory neurons are completely relaxed with no nerve conduction taking place .But as soon as brain realises that dream has been complete or stopped it again revives it neuro system and hence we are able to move our body parts .
This delay in signal is caused due to abrupt termination of dream due to fear , anxiety or improper posture and as a result our body enters in spasmic condition for short period of time .
Whenever you undergo such situation focus on breathing or try to inhale air because semi autonomous process or we can say involuntary process so it remains active even in dream and spasmic condition as well .

This is very horrifying.
I experienced the same thing before and not just once but thrice. I couldn't move, speak. I wanna get up, I wanna breathe but I couldn't. My mind seemed to be awake but being controlled I don't know. It's a very horrifying experience. I even thought of dying, thank goodness was able to get up. I was like taking my bathe with the sweat I had and I was like shivering as my eyes were opened. I was thinking of my dream as I got up and it still scares me. It's as if it's real. I just hope I wont experience it again?

Yes I have experienced that. I’ve had awful dark dreams where I am in my bed, get up, wander around the house and get chased by something or someone I can’t see. It is terrifying and usually takes me a few minutes to become aware that I am actually asleep and dreaming and when I make the realisation all I want to do is wake up but have a really hard time doing so. I’ve had those kinds of dreams on and off for years and I hate them! I wonder if my state of mind just before bedtime has anything to with it…It sure is a relief waking up for real!

My father is a folk artist. He can sing our traditional OGGU Katha songs. Those stories are consisting with Ghosts. So while my father is sleeping he will get the situation where he will not wake up in the time of those bad dreams, but he will sound differently. He will not wake up himself, i can wake him. Then he will come to relax.

I can remember this a few times in my life, and gosh it was the scariest experiences. Where I distinctly remember screaming my lungs out and no noise could be heard. I even remember once saying to myself this is only a dream and I will wake up. Scary because I remember sort of slapping myself on the arm to try and wake up in the dream and still not able to awake.
