Sometimes people do things with their instinct and others would do think a lot of times before doing anything.I am a nurse some task in the hospital are routine and I do it in my instinct but when a new procedure, medications and charting and on how I can help my patient needs I usually think a lot of times before I am doing a specific intervention. How about you what made you think a lot of times before doing anything or just using your instinct?:)

Wheneevr there's anything I need to do or decide on things, I think it over for a long time. And it really bothers me that I seldom follow my instincts coz I thinnk of the situation over and over again, thinking all the good or bad that'll result to and give myself a nasty headache over things that don't really matter. I really need to stop doing this but I don't know how to :(

It's a case to case basis, if I am so exposed with the usual situation ofcourse it will be my instinct. But if cases are new to me I will certainly think many times before I'll do an action.

Actually, it depends on what i will be doing. When it is a routinary one, i do it with my instinct, because i am used to doing it already. However, i always make it a point to review what i do. That way, i can assure myself that everything's okay.
In case that it is something not ordinary , i would think first the best on how it should be done. Then, i carefully execute it.

Same here! Early on i need to learn all the ropes and then getting it right takes a lot of thinking and considering and re-considering. But with time and this is the best part i do it reflexively. No thinking required. This is the time i yearn for!!!

I am an instinct person. I love to think, but not about my daily routine. If I am hungry I open the fridge and take out the first thing my hand touches. I rarely look at the calories and usually forget to check the expiration date. In a conversation I say the first thing that my brain generates - it's out of my mouth before I can even evaluate the wisdom of saying it. Think before you speak is something that (for me) went in one ear and out the other. I also find myself on autopilot sometimes when I drive.
As you might imagine, my usual habit of going off of instinct has gotten me in trouble. In school I missed recesses commonly for a smart remark here and there. In present day I have made good use of Pepto-Bismol pills after eating expired food. And driving? Well I'm going to keep the consequences of that to myself. I wouldn't want to scare anyone of into throwing away the keys to their car.
As a child I just continued this way with out a thought. I am just glad that with adulthood I see things clearer. This a complex world with its share of serious danger. We have our brains for a reason. There is also a reason why thinking is considered higher than instinct. Instinct leads to blind action, while thinking can lead to wise action. It's obvious which one I should employ more.
