I can't help thinking that the world is really coming to an end when I hear the word, or numbers rather, "2012".
Having watched the movie "2012" made me feel pessimistic too. Usually, I don't believe in those, but with all the calamities happening in the world, I'm pretty scared of what might actually happen in the year 2012.
I was in Japan when the huge earthquake/tsunami incident happened this year (March 2011). I thought the world was already ending. But it didn't. So maybe "2012" will not be the end of the world as well.
I'm looking forward to 2013, 2032, 2100!!!
How about you guys? :)

I think it's another one of those hoaxes like the one that was predicted last June, I think. I'll just sleep it off rather than wait for something that will never happen.

They used math to predict it. Some egghead took the date and used math to arrive at the date of crucifixion, I don't even know if his date of crucifixion is correct.

Haha I've heard about that prediction last June too. It was so funny because it was completely random. I don't know how do they even "predict" about it.

Oh don't be scared. Even if we are certain that the world ends tomorrow, then we couldn't do anything to help it. For me, there is no one in this world who could tell as to when our world will end. Earthquakes and tsunamis are present even thousands and thousands of years ago, but our world still survives. What we have to do is to keep on living and move on with our lives happily and well so that we could get the most out of it. Don't be bothered by it too much. We are lucky that we are alive and get to taste the good things in life that is providing us. No matter what happens-it's reality and we cannot stop it. What we must do is to take care of our planet and be as green as possible and be aware and keep updated with the global warming issue which is believed to be one of the major culprits as to why our planet is possibly deteriorating. In such a way we could help by nurturing it so we could pass on a planet worth living for our future generation. So stop worrying and live life happily.

True. We can't do anything even if the world has to end tomorrow. If it's part of God's plan, then it is going to happen. But I believe that even if this world we're living in now gets destroyed, there's a home that is waiting for us by the heavens above. :)

In my opinion nobody can know when the world come to the end. It's true that these days many disasters are happening in the world and we can learn about it through the media. I'm wondering, if in the past, when there were no computers or TV, the number of disasters were the same as today. It would be interesting to know if there are statistics about it. I'm also looking forward to the coming years.

True. There were no computers or TV in the past so no one really knows the disasters that were happening in different parts of the world. In this generation on the other hand, we are already exposed to many things that are happening, which made people more curious and made them do more studies and predictions about it. But those studies or predictions don't necessarily mean accurate all the time. Life still is full of mysteries that no human can solve.

i do not think the world will really end in 2012 it is just a lie. all the films showing the world end are not true. nobody can predict future the world will not end in 2012.i guarantee that the world will not end. all the predictions are false. jehovas witnesses said that the world will end in 1914 but the world did not end.the only thing that happened was world war.

"Lie" is a big word. Perhaps, "inaccurate" would be more appropriate. It may not be true, but it could be true. Because all things must end at some point in time. It may not be in 2012, but it may be in some other millennium. So the world ending in 2012 that was predicted by the Mayans was just inaccurate. Well, we'll see about that in 2013. :)

I don't think so. Predictions is a matter of guessing. Calamities and tragedies are just a warning that we should take care of our nature. We had abused a lot for our own pleasure. We didn't think the consequences waiting on the line. We should better change. It's time to take care the things that God had given us and be responsible caretaker to it.

Yes, those are warnings to us because we really haven't been taking care of Mother Nature. I hope that people will make more efforts on preventing global warming. We should learn from all the calamities that are happening.

There is nothing to be scared of this. Its just a fiction story. And it doesnt holds any reality.
Offcourse,I too believe in god and end of the world. But 2012 is only a decision made by someone and so many such decisions have been made through out the history of the earth and still earth is live.So just ignore it as just another fake.

Yes, I also believe in end of the world, but not in 2012. It can't end just yet because we have a lot more to achieve in the world. We must keep living to serve our purpose in this world.

They are making movies and earning money but just for entertainment. I think no one have seen the future and such a big prediction is far far from the human reach.
It is only 6 months from now and everyone will see the truth and they will never believe in such craps. I think one have to understand the meaning behind the movie and that is to protect our environment.
If we protect the environment then it will never happen but if we don't then no body knows if it ends tomorrow.

That is very true that no one has seen the future so we can't actually say what's gonna happen or not. Actually, it is not 6 months, but the prediction falls on December 2012. It's more than a year from now, but whatever happens, we should just be ready and just live life to the fullest and appreciate what we have now.

No,in spite of all the calamities happening in the world at the moment,I don't think 2012 will bring the end of the world;I think there's still a very long time until that happens, and in spite of all disasters, mankind will survive.I also think the end of the world will not bring the end of the human race because by the time it happens people will have moved to other planets or even solar systems.I think 2012 will be just another year with many events and disasters, but it will pass and the world will be in its place.

Yes, calamities have been happening in the world even before thousands of years and the Earth is still existing. I'm looking forward to more colorful and happy events in 2012 and the coming years. :) See you in the next decades! :)

I've heard of 2012 for years now and believe me, it has stopped worrying me. At first I was pretty spooked about hearing the world about to end and stuffs but it got so over rated that I don't spend my time being scared anymore. I mean I've heard it so many times I don't believe it or care about it anymore =D

Yes, it's better for us to stop worrying about the end of the world. It's better to live this short life fully rather than wasting the precious moments by worrying too much.

Some religions reap benefits from this supposed end-of-the-world scenario. Their adherents sell their worldly goods and flock to where their leaders direct them to await the supposed end of the world and where they are supposed to be lifted up to heaven to meet the Almighty. Since the world is supposed to end soon at a certain point, the adherents also end up donating most of the earnings from the sale of their worldly goods to the religions that told them about the end of the world.
A religious group in Davao City once preached that the end of the world would come at 2000. The end never came to pass, but the group now have extensive and substantial property holdings.

Different religions really have different views on things. As a Christian, I'm okay that the world ends as long as I get to rest in peace with God. :)

Yes, movies are movies. But I'm not just talking about the movie. There's actually predictions made by the Mayans and that's what I'm most intrigued about. I liked the movie, though!

The world won't end in 2012. When everyone says it is when the Myans calendar ends, yes, you are correct, the Myan's calendar does end in 2012. But as it has been found 2012 would not be the first time that the Myans calendar ended. It is simply starting a new cycle, as the Myans thought. I don't think the world is going to end in 2012. So, pinkpiglet, I can't wait to see you in 2012, 2013, 2100.

That movie was a fiction. It wasn't meant to make people believe that it will happen. No one know the end of the world except GOd.
All that we can do now, is to better take care of our environment and pray that these calamities will lessen.

I don't think so.Only God knows when the world will end. It's really up to other people if they will believe it or not but for me I still want to enjoy life and to see the future on what will happen next and what is life in 2012 if God willing. All we have to do is to pray because their is no permanent in the world all of us will decay. So as much as possible we don't have to worry the future but to enjoy what we have now:)

Personally, I don't "believe" it, but I'm just so intrigued about all the Mayan predictions and stuff. But of course, all we can do is pray and you're right, enjoy what we have now!

I really don't believe in these things. I mean a lot of people used to say that the world would end in 2000, I didn't trust at the time. Now, some people say is going to end in 2012. I just can't believe in these histories.

Thats craps. That is a complete crap.how can any one say that world is to end in 2012 when even the movie did not say it.Did not you see the end of the movie thousands of people survived with a pair of all the species of animal and some samples of crop to replant. And also their were some areas of the ocean that did not get effected.
So if you have not watched the end of movie then go and watch the climax once again.
I did not liked the movie at all because they tried to cash on peoples mind and feelings.
But still if we continue to be like we are now ,then i can say the end is near. And to protect we have to go green.

There is no chance that the world will end in 2012. Think about it, it's based on predictions made hundreds and hundreds of years ago. We are much more advanced now and we have no evidence to suggest it will end. I think it's just a story made to sell like all things are nowadays. The guy who marketed this story must be very happy.
