Will Argentina become 1st copa america host who failed reach quarter?

Another messy performance for Argentina.. even though they are playing with four strikers on late15 minutes but still never touch colombia goalkeeper net..I know Messi really can not move due to strictly guard by colombian mid back players but still the other three strikers can not do anything and lack of creativity..I know Brasil and Uruguay also have late start but Argentina is the host of copa american cup this time..What do you think? Can Argentina make it to next round?

I think Argentina will win against Costa Rica and make it to the quarter finals,but in order to be forgiven by their fans,they will have to play at their best from now on,which I'm sure they can,considering the very high individual value of the players.Anyway,I don't think it's fair to blame Messi for the poor evolutions of the team,as many people do,I'm sure he wants to play as well as he does for Barca,but here the team doesn't help and he's very well guarded.Anyway,I'm sure Argentina will wake up before it's too late and finally show its real value in the last group match.

I agree with you polaris77. Everyone blames Messi, but let's faced no one from Argentina team made a good game in these last two matches. In my opinion, Messi didn't played great either, but on the first match he was one of the best in field in that match. I agree that Messi don't play half of what he can in Argetina team, but we have to see that he doesn't have Iniesta or Xavi to play with on Argetina team. And we all know that the offensive players are good, but the defense are horrible!

I am sure that Argentina will qualify for the next round and they can even win it. We have seen Spain struggling to qualify from the group stages at the World Cup and finally they were crowned champions. This can happen with Argentina as well at this years Copa America.

On paper alone, Argentina has one of the most feared strikeforce. But somehow, they could not gel as a team. Beside, I think coach Batista is not a good tactician to begin with. Unless they have a coach who can unleash the potential of the players, then Argentina will always remain as favorites but never to win any major trophy.

Of course that they can make it to the next round. I would be shocked if they don't win of Costa Rica. If they can't win even from a younger Costa Rica, they should stop playing football. The original Costa Rica is not good, imagine the younger team. I know they win from Bolivia, but Bolivia is also a awful team.
Seriously, I'm not understanding how the "favorites" are playing soooo bad! From the 3 favorites, the better so far was Uruguay. They didn't win, but at least they showed a ok football. While, Argentina and Brazil are just horrible.
