Why Does When It Rains, It Pours?

I mean Health problems, or issues. And then it makes you wonder even when you feel you are finally getting somewhere, will this ever end? For many of you who have been following and responding back to the discussions I have started on here, I am sure you can agree with this one for sure. I would hate to see what the last 3-4 weeks would have cost me if I would not have had insurance. No way before this would I have ever thought I could max out my Insurance this quick. At least they do not stop the amount of care they can give me. But it does seem like it has truly been one thing after another, and even I am want to look out for the end, it is not there yet... but continuing to keep positive that there will be an end in site. I do know that I am beginning to feel like I spend more time in a Doctors Office, etc. almost than anywhere else, and are they really beginning to get tired of seeing me? It all started back when I had the shortness of breathe and then went to my Doctor complaining of it to where she thought it could be my heart and they did the Stress Test and thought they seen something. Right after that it was having issues with the wound on my Leg getting infected and having issues with a Blood Pressure medication they had just put me on. Got started on the Antibiotics for a staph infection but ended up in the hospital with severe chest pains which luckily turned out to be nothing serious... Just confirming I have fibromyalga that is causing all of these issues. Then it was other issues, and now I have Brochitis and went to the Doctor for Cough Syrup with Codeine and an Antibiotic. So it is feeling like it is Raining right now, and wondering when it will ever end. But I know that this too is short lived but for now ready to get off here again and head back to sleep. ~~TINA~~

Oh, aren't you ever right. I have seen this to be the case with Tom. This is the second year in a row that he has met his out of pocket maximum for the entire year before we've ever even gotten to June. Well, I guess for him it is something that we are going to have to look forward to for the next several years because he will have to be getting regular PET scans for the next five years and each of those scans is extremely expensive.

I do know how you feel. We are so lucky to have help with my son's bills. We are at the doctors all the time, especially since his back surgery a few years ago. There is no way we could afford it. How is your wound? I am glad someone finally started helping you with it.

I do understand your frustrations!!! I had to take my Dad to the ER Monday night & he's been in the hospital all week!!! I am soooo freakin frustrated with the doctors that I could SCREAM!!! I understand they have a busy schedule, but I swear that keep up with the family's schedule & make sure they miss you when you're there!!! I know we need them, but I sometimes wonder if they aren't part of the problem??? I've watched my Dad laying there weak & sick & on the one day he begins to feel better, they do a procedure on him which has set him back 3 days!!! I took him to the doctor 6 weeks ago with the same problem & she couldn't find what was wrong. So, she sends him to a specialist who can't see him for another 6 weeks. In the meantime, he's in the ER & ICU. They keep saying that his tests are inconclusive yet they continue to do the same test over & over. If the first test couldn't give them the answer, WHY do they think the same test will just suddenly give them the answer??? I think they can give themselves a pay increase by adding tests on top of tests on top of tests!!! My Dad is getting so tired of hurting & so frustrated he's beginning to pray to die!!! Even though I've not been able to participate here lately, I have been keeping up with your medical problems & have been fervently praying for God to guide your doctors in the right direction!!! I fear that once you no longer have insurance that they will stop doing any real work on you & at that point you will need the power of the Almighty!!!

I wish I knew the answer to this so we all could try to avoid it. The same thing happens here too. It is never just one thing. It has to be several all at once.

Tina, I take it that you are a discerning and meticulous person which you should be glad as your wise decisions has really paid dividends today. Your post is really relevant and should be read by people who does not feel or undermine the importance of taking up personal insurances. Where I am from, insurance has been catching up with the young than in my days. However, I have to say that they are not really as comprehensive as yours in your country. I pray that all will be well in good time and look forward to more posts from you. Take care and have a nice day.

I know what you mean. I am beginning to think the same thing with my health issues. No sooner than I finish with chemo that they tell me I had other problems show up on my CT. Now I am having shortness of breath myself and wondering if I should go to the ER to get it checked out or if I should wait and talk to my doctor next week to see if she thinks it's related to the infection that they are treating me for. Like you say, when it rains it pours. Have a great weekend!!!

I had chronic bronchitis for a period of time. I was getting it every three months. Why I don't know. It is horrible. I wonder if you have an immune difenciency. I also wonder if you are eating a good diet. L-lysine is one of the amino acids and helps strengthen the immune stystem. I think you should take some and strengthen the system. Start out with 4 or 5 a day for a week and then follow the instructions on the bottle. I would also start taking some anti-oxidants and help your body detoxify. Have you heard of the Lemonade Diet?

Life does feel like that sometimes but it is important to remember that we are never given more than we can handle although the way you are probably feeling at the moment, this statement is more than likely of very little comfort. The only thing you have to keep telling yourself is that this too will pass. I am sorry your health is poorly at the moment; I will keep up the prayers for you, get plenty of rest but please don’t lose hope because I know things will get better.

Hope you will feel better soon Tina, i just do not like hearing people are sick..it makes me sad because no one really likes to get sick! But i do can relate when you tell me that when it rains, it pours! Just on my part, the rain never seems to cease, like a month ago, my hubby got sick..then just a week after, there was money problems, then my son gets dengue fever..then now we have house problems.. its like the problems never cease to stop. I am hoping things will also turn good for me, me and hubby are praying for that..and i am praying for you too Tina.

Dear Tina, I know exactly how you feel. Ive had severe stomach pain for almost a year now. Everyday. My doctors are stupid. I was the one that figured out it was my severe gastritis causing the pain and then I HAD TO ASK for a medication for it. My primary doc didn't believe I was in pain. I think she thought I was making it up cause she did tons of tests and never found anything. I am still in pain today just waiting for med to work. And I pray it does. I to feel that it is constantly pouring in my life. Not only my health problems (i am disabled due to pain and gastric conditions and others) but my living situation is so stressful. I hope that you will feel better soon, and be your own avicate with your doctors and be persistant. That is how I finally got somewhere with them. Take care, Trish

Hi Tina, I hate it that so much is going on with you to keep you going to the doctor. Don't worry they may get sick of seeing you, but they like the money, so it all works out. Just kidding, Tina. I think just some people are prone to be sicker than others. You could have a very low immune system, as to why you are always in pain or sick. I hope some doctor is working on a way to boost your immune system. As sick as you stay, I would almost guess that is the culprit right there. You can't get well because your immune system is compromised. I would almost bet on it.

Hi Tina You certainly have been through a great deal in such a short time. It is absolutely true that when it rains, most times it does end up pouring. I am glad to read that it is nothing more serious then the Fibromyalgia, as that alone is enough. Oddly on how at times end up working out as they have for you. I think if you did not have health insurance this entire situation could have been maddening. Not that it isn't terrible as I am sure you have been through a great deal. Healthcare costs today are way too expensive and there are some who must stop treatments and care due top lack of funds. I shall continue praying and hope the storm soon blows away, so that you dear friend can have sunny day at the beach, so to speak and live pain free. The Antibiotics and medications alone will wear you out, therefore, do get some much needed rest. Sleep tight and hope that at least the exhausting feeling wears out and you begin to regain some energy.
