,,ahhh you may try this : Control Panel - Folder Options - Show Hidden Files.. or you can restore your system, that's always what I do if I have a difficult problem that happens one day ago.. Start Menu - Accessories - System Restore..

If you've tried chkdsk then, in command, prompt run chkdsk/e. On my 'puter it then allows for chkdsk to be set to run at start-up to fix the problems.

Yes, I did. It was caused by a virus which damaged even our former antivirus at home - Avira Personal. Good thing we brought the virus down using an unused flashdrive containing an installer that killed the virus.

Yes and no, I encountered a similar problem my with my old laptop in which all myf iles were corrupted and I lost them, my desktop was completely blank and my harddrive had encountered an error. When we finally give up in trying to fix it ourselves, a friend of ours, which is excellent with computer, advised us that our computer had crashed and that he was able to save a few of the files, but not all. Hopefully that is not the case with you and if so, I hope that you had the files backed-up.

First response is the best. Because they used many technical abbreviations, it doesn't mean they're answer should be ignored.

Never encountered such a problem, my advice is to get to a trained technician to fix it.

Sounds like a problem with your HDD. Run a HDD utility and check the integrity of the disk.

Hi.... there are several possibilities. First, maybe hard disk drive has problems. Second, check your cable IDE/SATA. If it is because of the problem come from the cable. The cable should be replaced. Third, virus problem. Fourth, partition already corrupted.
