A 15 year old hold hands with her 1 year old son. People call her a sl*t. No one knows she was r**ed at 13. People call a girl fat. No one knows she has a serious disease which cause her to be overweight.
People call an old man ugly. No one knows he had a serious injury to his face while fighting for our country in the war.

I agree with you, name calling is bad full stop but the thing is people have to rely on stereotypes as it is a form of assumption that can tend to be right. Although there might be a few exceptional cases, a lot of assumptions are fair. Obviously the ones you posted are very rude ones so I would consider it mean.

People can be cruel. Especially to those who are different. They should have to walk in the shoes of the people they bully.

one has the right to assume anything about the people we meet. Do not judge lest ye be judged and also treat others the way you want to be treated, do not bully anyone or sterotype people. treat all as you wanted to b e treated.

I totally agree with you and I just did this same discussion the other day. I cannot stand so many assumptions and hurtful words from people! My sister in law is overweight because she has a thyroid problem in which she cannot lose the weight no matter how much she has tried. 
. It's sad. People need to stop their judgements!
