What is a pet and what isn't? Why?

A lot of people have different views on what makes a pet: a pet, a companion, a friend, or something not to ever be messed with. Do you view yourself as an owner/keeper?

Umm I'm not quite sure what you're asking because it was quite an abstract, unclear question but I'll try anyway. I have a pet dog and I would consider myself to be the owner of him, yeah sure. I mean I'm very nice with him and stuff so yeah I'd consider him to also be my friend haha! :D

Well, it is a two part question. In part one: What would you consider a pet? Some people believe no animal is a pet. In part two: Do you think you can own pets or are you just they're loving keepers. My main goal is to get other people's opinion about anything related to these two questions.

Hello, Pippikins. For me, a pet is any live being that can be domesticated and we usually keep inside a land that is considered ours, using the pet for some purpose, be it as a distraction to visitors, as a companion, as a friend, or as a keeper of the house. I know it sounds rude, but basically that's what really happens, humans get pets because they want something in exchange. Usually, not always. Yes, I have a medium size dog, and I consider myself an owner. We raised him since he was really small, we took care of him, we love him and he is now a part of the family. He is a great friend! Respectfully, Munhozmib.
