I just saw a very touching t.v. ad. A school girl is in class and she looks up and her dad is back from the war! She is crying as she stands up to greet him. And then the caption says ' Take Time to be a dad." It made me sad, Do you mean that Some men need a t.v. to remind them to be a dad? Are you kidding me? The dads who are already in their kids life don't need it and the ones who are not won't even give this ad a second thought! Has it gotten this bad that we Need t.v. ads to teach people How to parent?

Honestly times have changed. And if this is for some way to help some guy to step up to the plate and actualy be a good dad. Than I'm all for it. And it is sad that our society has become to the point we need tv to remind us. THe US Nation is just a bunch of busy bees and sometimes we need that added reminder that don't forget to be a good parent. Sad but true.

I think it's more to drill into the mindset of future generations. I'm sure that kids who watch that will then know how THEY should act as a dad - funny right? But I guess it doesn't do any harm. Must be a bit awkward if you are a crap dad and you watch that with your kid. But then again who am I to judge, some parents act different to others and maybe they have their own way of raising their kids. Funny world we live in but I'm sure it's helping someone out there.

It is indded a sad state of affairs. In todays world life has become so fast paced and everything has become so expensive that not just men but even women are forced to go for jobs leaving their kids to either be in the care of someone or even to fend for themselves.some men are so busy not just making money but running after it that they have no time for even their families, read children. Many kids hardly see their fathers during the week since they are off to school early in the morning and their dads return home very late, sometimes past their bedtime. And during the weekend the father is either too tired to give any attention to the kids or is busy catching up with the house work.No wonder the dads become strangers to their own children who long for fatherly love and do not get it when they need it the most.

yea it's kinda ironic actually. many people have been ignoring that role, or maybe forget it sometimes :S
but still, a Dad's role is crucial, cant be replaced just like that.
anyone can be a father, but it takes a lot more to be a DAD :D
