I'm On My Way To Work And It's Traffic

I'm on my way to work as I'm typing this. It's currently 5:21pm Philippine time and it's raining. Traffic is slightly heavier compared to when my shift was still at 6am in the morning. It's funny how we get this habit of staying with our usual habits even though we know the schedule have changed. Of course the roads are clear during 6am that's why the travelling time is cut to almost 3/4 compared to now. The jeep I'm at is at a halt due to traffic lights at red. Is your work changing schedules weekly or monthly? Or worse, every other day? How do you feel having to adjust to changing schedules everytime?

What kind of work are you into? Yes, changing schedules can really mess up your habits and body clock. All you can do is to adjust better and nicely with the schedules that you are given. I still have yet to experience a shifting schedule. I normally work only on normal office hours but I think in the future I will be needing to work on shifting schedules too. I hope you can give me some tips on how you adjust whenever you get shifting schedules. I will really appreciate it.

All I can tell you is you have to take note of how much time it'll take for you to get to your workplace when there's traffic of the heaviest amount. If you can get this information, you'll pretty much calculate how much time you have to adjust with shifting schedules.

Necessities makes us change. Yes while working I also had change of shifts and I had to get used to them. It may be problematic for a few days. Afterwards we get used to it. How u are able to use laptop while travelling? No.1 u must be good in typing while travelling and 2) u must be having internet connection on mobile. good. good day.

Yep, we have to adjust especially if the pay is good. I'm still enjoying the pay so I can't complain. Plus, I agreed to shifting schedules so I'll be stuck with this for sure. Yeah, I have internet connection on my mobile. It's quite handy with a lot of things, I like it.

are you into call center too, frontvisions? i heard from some friends that work schedule always changes in the call center. my work remains the same since time immemorial. you know the government offices... by the way, you're in a jeepney you said as you wrote this one? what have you got there to post, a laptop or a mobile phone? aren't you afraid of using your stuff while in a public transportation? there are lots of bad guys roaming everywhere in the metropolis. take care...

Yep, call center. Highly paid in expense for ruining my body clock. Well, it's great to know you're on a fixed schedule. That way you'll be well on your way on figuring out what time you should be going to the office. I don't really think my phone will ever get stolen since it's all banged up. Whenever I'm posting here on myLot I mostly use my phone. The times that I use a laptop is whenever I'm at home and have the energy to sit up and type on a keyboard.

I hear ya. My schedule changes every month but whenever there's an emergency (which happens a lot) we change shifts every other day. It's horrible. But I've gotten used to it and I have to leave my house 2 hours before my shift starts lol if it falls on peak hours. I'm working on a 6AM shift and I love it. The part I hate the most is that it's still dark when I leave home, it has to be an hour earlier.

I like it when it's still dark. There aren't much people walking around, it's quiet, and there are no traffic jams yet. The part that sucks right now regarding my schedule is the fact that I have to leave home in the afternoon, man, that sucks. It's hot most of the time, traffic is usually heavy, and it's very loud at that time of the day. I get stressed out before I even arrive to work.

hello front, 5:21pm... Now it's 8:48 pm,I hope you already reached your working place. If I may not mistaken my friend 5pm starts of that heavy traffic jam heading here in our place. But,I guess your way is much convenient if you taking Guadalupe/GATE 3 is it? At least you are not passing the Market mall that caused heavy traffic. How I wish to get a new job in McKinley too, just a few steps away from home, saves me trouble with time and fare. have a great weekend...

You can get a lot of jobs in Mckinley. Why don't you try it there. Since you're just a few steps away from there, it would be easy access from there.

The good thing about my work is that the schedule changes every month and its good as for the entire month I get accustomed to the same schedule. Had it to change weekly or even every other day it would have been a nuisance and it becomes very difficult to adapt to the changing schedule. More so with changing schedules and traffic jams we tends to get irriated and wish that we work in better hours when there is lesser traffic. There is very little that we can do to avoid traffic.

Yep. And it's pretty hard to let go of perfect schedules such as travel times with lesser traffic jams. I'm now on my way to office again with the same amount of traffic again and all the honking.
