Friends, I have always tried to help others in all possible ways, never expecting anything in return, but as per our faith, if you do good, you get back good many times; if you do bad, you get back bad multiple times. Better to do good as far as practicable and forget it. Am I right? Do you always do good to others? Please share your experience. Thanks in advance. Professor ‘Bhuwan’. . Cheers have a lucky day ahead.

well, that's it my dear, cheaters really does have sweet words and promises... and, since they already give their promise to you, that would be too much if they're going to fulfill it be contented with "promise"

Helping others brings me tremendous joy and satisfaction. I love seeing their reaction to something I've done in a good way. A lot of the time, it is the small things you do for another that mean the most. I believe my primary purpose for living is to be of service to others. Sometimes we don't realize that we're being of service or helping someone because we think it always has to involve "giving money." You can help someone in many ways.......listening and providing a shoulder to lean on, being kind and loving, smiling and saying hello, letting someone ahead of you in line, offering a ride to someone, paying the extra for someone who's groceries went over the amount they could spend, etc....... I've discovered that the quickest way to receive anything is to give it away or be for someone else, what it is I want to receive. If we want love....be loving towards others If we want loyalty....be loyal to others If we want joy......be joyful to others If we want compassion.....be compassionate towards others If we want money.....give money to others I believe this is the deepest meaning of "do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

hi professor oh yes indeed whether it was in my job as a nurse's aide or in my personal life I always enjoyed helping others. It makes you feel really good inside to know you are not just leading a life bent only on your own self. I have read even here in mylot that life meant making yourself happy, thats all and I wanted to cry as thats so lonely and so utterly selfish. we are here to care and help each other. My mom told me to always do unto others what you would have them do unto you. live that and always if you cannot say a kind word to others, KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT. She did not have a college degree but she had a BA in wisdom for sure.I believe that what you do will come back a hundredfold so be careful never to be mean or hateful as what comes around comes around and if you were mean it will eventually bite you in the but.t.

Hi Papa, You know I was not raised with principals and morals in my upbringing but somewhere along the lines in my growing years I had noticed a great deal of things in my environment that did not seem right. Though I was baptized Catholic, simply in my opinion as part of tradition because many in my surrounding were not truly believers. On my own Papa, I leaned that someday I was going to be an adult with children, and the way I was being brought up was not the way I wanted to see/view my own kids. I have been through a great deal in life but have always felt through learning that one must never laugh at other misfortunes, as I have always felt that karma was not gracious to us. Therefore yes I always with good intentions do good things in life for others, whether they appreciate it or not I know I am very happy with my doings. Being able to live and having seen my own kids become very responsible adults tells me that my good deeds have been repaid.

hi HWG I learned from the daily bitter quarrels between my parents that one day when I married I would love and cherish my mate and never ever make him unhappy. So I learned what not to do in marriage and I met a man who also had parents who were not really happy with each other.so we both became best friends and we loved each other unconditionally. So we were not always fighting trying to remake our mates. But my mom did instill in me the golden rule and also If You cannot say kind things to others,KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT.these two rules have helped me so much through all my life.

Hi Mrs. Hatley Sadly, I did not have a caring mother and or one to guide me in life. I somehow do feel special as despite all the life instances I have seen and undergone, I have always felt that there were people/angels up in heaven guiding me each day. I have always felt protected somehow despite all the situations in life. I have no idea where I first heard the words "If you have nothing nice to say, then say nothing at all", lol Mrs. Hatley, I have lived by those words all my life too.

I also get pleasure helping other people. I don't always get anything back from the people, but I don't often expect anything. There have been times that I have given people more than I could really afford and those people claimed that they would pay me back and tell me all the things they think I want to hear and then they just ignore me. Not that I really want them to pay me back, but if they say they are going to do something, I wish they would follow through. I'm sure I will get back from someone, even if it isn't the person I originally gave to.

If we do good God has a way of returning the favor to us in one way or another. We don't need to expect anything in return from the persons we've extended good deeds. Kindness comes from a good heart which is willing to show love and concern to anyone no matter and without any selfish motive.

Hello Professor, good morning, we should try not to hurt to any one. It is my opinion that no one can say that I never do bad, including me. It is our Indian tradition that help some one throw it in well. If you give some one with your right hand than your left never aware about it.

I also try my best always to be nice with people and do good deeds. It's not more of because I believe in karma but more of because it gives me pleasure. I feel so good inside when I get to do something good to other people. I feel so calm and happy.

Hi prof! Like you everyone will try by hard to do goods to others. Same goes to myself. I always try not to disappoint others and will search in any possible way I could do to less the burden. It is great if we can help others. But it is limited. As sometimes people like to take an advantage to our kindness I will check whether they really need help or just take the opportunity to run away from responsibility.(^^)

One hundred per cent right. If u think good u get good things happening. If u think bad bad things happen. We must follow gita principle -- do ur duty and leave the rest to God. But it is easily said but difficult to follow. I post a discussion and then follow and find whether people hve responded. problems will not be there if we do some work like this -- u are not sure of the results -- u just share what u know --but in real life when we do some work we expect some recognition or remunerations and when that is not forthcoming we get tensed. good thought indeed.

We share the same feeling about helping others, ever since I was a child I have this dream to do little things for others... last February of this year I organized a Valentines Day celebration for children in an orphanage here in our country, it's just a small party & with the help of my friends and relatives it was very successful, i didn't mind all the hard work & the money I spent coz just the thought of giving joy to those little faces warms my heart so much.. I try to do little things for others without expecting anything in return, I don't even say to myself that it will come back to me in ten folds.. I just do it because I feel it is my obligation to give a little something back to the community... Life is hard yes I know but a midst everything we are still lucky we have roofs in our heads and food in our table... GOD has always been good and bless us with the little things that we have, so even if I have an incomplete life my heart still desires to give a little helping hand...

I do not like to help alot of others out. I have found alot of people don't appreciate it. So I don't get alot of pleasure in helping people out. I will only help people who will appreciate it. In this day and age there is alot of ungrateful people in this world. I avoid them!

I like helping people whenever i can. I ever helped a person and gets myself in trouble, but luckily nothing serious. So, i prefer to check well before i give my helping hands to that person. But, i don't really need him to return the favor to me. I just hope that when i helped a person, it don't bring trouble back to myself...

I believe in doing what's right. And doing good is right. :-) I want to share my pretty awkward experience the day I realized to start doing good to people around me. I was on the streets on my way home. I found a woman who came out of a vehicle carrying a big sack of stuff. I offered to help her out at took her bag at the same time, and she was terrified! lol. I can't describe the look on her face, it was as if I looked like a serial killer or whatever cause she was really horrified to see a stranger help her out. She really thought I was going to take her things. lol. Then, she said she was okay. I think part of it was my mistake. lol for not telling her properly that I was going to help her out.

I think that you would find similar principles in just about every one of the world's religions. Christians, for example, would normally cite Galatians 6:7 from the Holy Bible, which, off the top of my head, mentions something like, as a man sows, so shall he reap. I'm not sure about the fact that it will return to you, good or bad, many times over. It seems to be a little different from the Jewish point of "an eye for an eye & a tooth for a tooth", so it could be correct to say that also, but maybe it just feels like it comes back to you many times over or maybe there's actually more to it than most of us realize? Perhaps it has also something also to do with the merit of the individual? Maybe the person was in some especially blessed, etc condition at the time or kept some very good / bad company? Perhaps there are a lot of variables to consider after all & things are not quite as they seem? I think the principle is a sound one though & it is good & timely that you have brought this to our attention.

Thank you proffesor for your unconditional helping nature. that's what i also follow. i don't want to have any expectation from anybody because it hurt when the expections don't come true. as a human everyone should be ready those who are in need. these are the human acts which balances the non-human acts and the world more and more beautiful. Again i thank you for having this characteristic of true human. please keep it up. Have a nice day. are you an indian?
