Raja Rammohan Roy was a great social reformer.He was one of the makers of modern India. He was born in Hooghly in 1772. He was educated at at patna. he was very intelligent student. He learnt many languages like Arabic,Persian. He had great knowledge in Sanskrit and English. He received the title Raja from the Emperor of Delhi. He had liberal outlook. He founded Brahmo samaj. He fought against Sati system. He also tried hard for English education. He wanted a modern India.
