The worst performance I ever had in my entire life

Dancing is not really my passion but there are instances when everybody needs to participate. I've been joining this kind of activity every year, particulary every fiesta celeberation in our city. So far, since 2001, we were able to present a good one except last night. :-( I just do not know what kind of element intercedes, but almost of all us made a mistake during the performance. Although it was not that obvious according to a friend, but it was not just the best like the general rehearsal.

Hi Bhaby, heheh you're right there... At least we learned a lesson. One also that disappoint us was when the music played where not everyone is ready yet. :-) Haaayyy I will just consider it a nightmare.

Hi.......... I am a drama artist and last year i participated on an international competition where our group had the worst performance ever because the female player did not act well and all of us lost our interest. So, it happens... need not to worry... try your level best for the next as we won several prizes just months ago again. All the best.

It's nice to know about it. I really appreciate those who can act well on stage. It is indeed a talent and gift as well. Yeah, better try our best next time.

I can relate. At one dance performance I did, I made mistakes I did not even make when I was a beginner, and everything just did not look very controlled and the balletic lines that I based the piece off of were just not there. It just lacked the technique and presentation that I am used to having and that a dancer my age and experience level should have. The weakest part of my dancing is when I lose my form because it just ends up looking like I am not a strong dancer whereas most professionals can just lose their form without wrecking the big picture (if that makes any sense). I was never like that, which puts even more pressure on me to perform well. For me, it makes it worse when people tell me how great it was just because I know otherwise and I just don't like people to get the impression that what they saw was the best I am capable of when I know I am usually much better. It's a perfectionist trait, I guess... If almost all of you made a mistake, then you're clearly not alone in that it wasn't the best you've ever done. Hopefully you all will get to perform together again soon and you'll nail it the next time! Best wishes!

I think the worst performance always stays with you and reminds you of the good old days, better than the best performance you ever had. We used to perform a lot when we were younger. Once we had this opening dance, where ours was the first activity for the whole show. It was really a big deal for us because we were in a different place, a bigger hall, and there were a lot of people who weren't from our school too. We tried to give our best to the show but sadly that wasn't the case. It was a disaster. It was a big group dance and some of us had dress malfunction, some of us tripped and fell coz of the clothes LOL it was a nightmare. We were pretty pissed then but we laugh it when we talk about it these days. Some of the best days of my life

Sorry to hear about your performance! But you should take peace in the fact that as your friend says - often the audience is not nearly as aware of all the mistakes as the performers are! So I'm sure a lot of people didn't even notice. It seems to often happen that the rehearsals before a big performance go better than the actual performance - its so annoying but I guess thats just nerves playing up!

Hi, These things happen. Making mistakes is all just a factor of life. You shouldnt fret over them but rather use them as a learning experience. Remain calm composed, determined and hard working. Then things will go your way.
