Beethoven and His 60 Coffee Beans

I love reading trivia and sharing them, I hope you would love this one, too. Ludwig van Beethoven was a German composer and pianist. He produced more than 650 compositions and yep! he was a coffee lover. The weird fact is that he was so particular in the number of coffee beans he would use in brewing his coffee. He habitually ground 60 coffee beans (or else, it was not a good coffee for him?!) Imagine that? Was that his secret? Hehe. Do you have any strange habits when it comes to your coffee?

Well, other than the six scoops to make a pot of coffee, no...I think that is interesting..So is that 60 beans per cup? It has been a while since i used coffee beans, but that sounds like a lot of coffee for just one cup..

Yet, what were coffee pots like back then? How much did a coffee maker make? Did they also have a variety like we have today, pots that make anywhere from one cup to 12 cups or more? I think this is a question for a historian...

Whenever I need to study, I always drink coffee first. It helps me not to become sleepy while studying.

I think all the famous people do something crazy, and they have some different habits. I was reading a health tips and one of the tip was to never drink more than one coffee in a day. This shows the harm of drinking more coffee. I see the sample music in my computer/Laptop and there is one file from the musician. I am not a musician so I don't drink that heavy coffee. Anyway Beethoven thanks for the music..

yes, drinking coffee has some good and bad effects. its good for the heart (prevents having cancers) and becomes bad for your health if you take too much.. i have also read than taking 100 cups of coffee over a span of 4 hours can kill an average person... and yes, thanks Beethoven for some wonderful music :)

no katzar I do not have any strange habits like that,it may be because I am not famous.lol I think most of the famous person have something different rather say strange habits.they never think about their habit because they are so involved in doing their work so they nevet take those habits seriously. there are lots of such example.one funny incident I would like to share with you. one day newton invited his old friend for lunch.then on the day of invitation friend came according to the time but newton was busy with his experiments in another room.servant give lunch to the friend then after lunch friend went his home. newton was so involved in his experiment that he forgot his lunch.after some time he felt hungry.he came in the room and saw plates there then told himself.if I did not have the proof of plates then I would never believe that I did take my lunch.

Well, not really. When I make coffee I do as everyone else does, at least so I belive. I just buy a bag of coffee and put in two tablespoons of it in a coffee maker, they say is French. Then I add water and after four minutes is ready. In my opinion coffee tastes very well and acts as an energizer. In the case of Beethoven, the great German composer, I don't think that coffee was his secret to making good music.

hello rick, We'll I don't think this applies to everyone. For me, regardless of whatever coffee you make or drink, it always does the same thing which is warm the coffee drinkers' heart and jump start his or her day. Thanks for your response :)
