Do You Pray?

I see that praying is part of human life. In almost every culture, praying is something everybody has done or does. But nowadays, what I noticed is that people only pray to god if they got problems. In those times, they ask for forgiveness and ask that god help them.
I think it's wrong. What if a friend only comes to you if he/she needs help? Wouldn't feel good, right? But my question is do you pray? How often and when? Does it matter?

I always do pray on the day I wake up and before sleeping.Praying to God Is our best way to get source for our strength and happiness in life.We should pray not because we are asking for something but we pray because we want to thank the Lord for the blessings he give us everyday and we are still alive here on earth and enjoy his creations.:)

Definitely! We must pray not only because we are going to ask something but rather because we appreciate all the blessings we have in life and we would like to thank God for those beautiful things!
Have a blessed day and life! Thank you!

Yes, of course.. I do pray. Before I go to sleep, I do not forget to pray. Thanking God for what had happened to me during the day, asking for forgiveness for what I've done wrong and asking for guidance. I also pray before taking meals. Every morning when I wake up, I also pray. Prayer is a vital part of my life.

God is a God of Love, who loves Absolutely! An Absolute Love is such that it demands Absolutely Nothing in return. This being the case, a prayer if you have a problem and need help, is absolutely ok. Why would it be wrong to ask for help from a Loving God? The proper kind of Prayer is carried in your heart, and is with you always, eliminating the need to pray, once again, when you have a problem.

Hi!
Thank you for your opinion. But I think we should try to look it this way:
For example, you are a parent. You are a loving parent and you love your children well. Would you not feel good if your children remember you not only if they need you but also when they do not? Isn't it nice to hear from children their love for you not because they are going to ask for something?
My point is, god is like a loving parent. He wants us to become close to him not only in rough times but like a loving parent, in all times. Prayer is one key to become close to god. Also, it would be hard to get close to someone we don't know. So reading his book, the Bible, will surely help.
It's not easy though, but it's never easy to completely know someone, right?

No, I do not pray. I believe in the spiritual side of things but am an agnostic and question alot of things. I believe that positive energy works and I think that is all praying is. And,yes, even those that do pray only pray when it serves them. People being sefish and self serving. Realism is harsh.

I pray only when something bad happens or will happen. EG. when I got a difficult test to take tomorrow, when I quarreled with someone, or when i was just to tired to finish my work. i think it's not right to pray only in such conditions, but i really cannot help it. and i find sometimes it's useful, at least a little encouraging.

Hi!
Well if you find praying in hard times useful, I'm sure it would be better if you also pray in good times. Like thanking god for everyday life and blessing, right?

Yes I pray. I pray when I'm happy, I pray when I'm sad. I pray for my family and I pray for friends and other people or people I don't know. I can't say that I pray every day but I do pray often. I pray for help in finding something important and when I find that item, what ever it is, I pray a prayer of thanks for His help. I don't just pray when I'm in trouble or in need of help. However, if one does pray only when they need help, I say this, at least they pray. What I mean by that is, they do believe in God and the fact that they pray at all, says that they do believe in God and that's what matters.

It's nice to hear from someone like you. That's right. We should pray everyday for everything, whether in good times or in bad times. We pray not only for ourselves but for those we love and sometimes even for those who hate us.
Yeah, at least they believe in god. But it would always be better that they show Him love and faith all the time, right?
Thank you and have a nice day!

I pray every day asking for guidance in my life, I also thank God for his blessings and I pray for people who need or are asking for prayerss. I agree that a lot of the times we pray selfishly and not in thanks to The Lord. I try to pray in thanks to him and put my worries to the side for a moment.
I'm also working on trying to give my worries to The Lord without dwelling on them again.

Hi!
Just like you, I also pray everyday to thank for the blessings and new life I have and my family has. IT would really be selfish if we only consider god during bad times and forget about him completely in rough and hard times.

My children and I pray and thank God everyday, several times a day. We pray before all of our meals and we also pray at bedtime. I have been praying with my children since they were little babies. Even when I am not around, such as when they are at school or things, they still say their prayers. Yes, I pray to God when times are rough, but we continually pray and thank Him throughout the day.

Hi!
Yes, it is right to teach children to know god and love him. We really should thank god for our everyday life and not just think of him when we are in trouble.

I do a self-reflection on what is good in my life. It keeps me from getting down on the things that are bothering me. I believe in a higher power, but really do not believe that the higher power is going to snap his fingers and give me a job (I have the skills) or cure an illness. so no, i do not pray in the traditional sense. it is normally, I am thankful sentences.

Hi!
Yes, it's not like a magic that once we asked for something it will just appear. Of course, we need to exert some effort and show our desire to fulfill whatever we ask for. We should also always be thankful for everyday blessings we have.
Have a great day!

Yes, I pray. Not on a schedule or anything like that but I do pray and not only when things are bad. I try very hard to praise him on good things as well as ask for guidance and help on the bad things.

Yes I pray to God whenever I feel like praying. I pray the God for myself only, it is totally true. I want to be a good person and for that I ask the God for the wisdom and peace for me.
I think I become a wise person then other things will become automatically okay for me. It is just my ideology. Have a nice day ahead. God bless you.
