Hello Lotters, After Mylotting I just decided to take a break and watch Television hoping i can get sleepy but i couldn't. but before that i saw an episode of the IMBESTIGADOR (Investigator Series) hosted by Mike Enriquez. But this isn't just about exposure, it's something special, it was more about test..at test of honesty of the Filipinos. Here's how the test goes; they will have this asset who will pretend to have lost her wallet while Mike and fellow camera man watches those people. One thing I noticed though is that those who are from the slums or not educated (even by looks) doesn't hesitate to take it. we can't blame them, it's poverty, they take everything they found. Well, the statistics came up, it's 65 who brought the wallet back and 15 of those who didn't UNBELIEVABLE! Now, i truly believe that Media networks loves to report bad news. good thing the network made this kind of segment of the show. it gave me more hope that Filipinos have capacity to do good in their country

Hello sweetie, It seems that uneducated ones are mostly the ones who wouldn't hesitate to get the wallet even if the money is not that high. i think poverty is really what made them do it. despite of poverty it's nice to see some people who still has guts to give back some thing that was left behind. not tomention i did the same thing before

Hi! Of course, there are still a lot of people out there who are honest.. but because of the tough times now sometimes it's hard to think that there are a lot of them. Anyways, yeah, it's good that they come up with such an idea, and know what's better? That there are honest people and they are more than dishonest ones.

Can I ask few questions? Is the asset always in the same place? Are the other crew close to the field asset? Does the asset choose the person to talk to? If these questions are answered by yes, then I'm not convinced by the result. It maybe that there is a statistical error or people saw that it was a set-up. These kind of tests must be error free in order to be reliable. Errors tend to divert results from the original output.

Hello Alphenor, This isn't some marketing test you know, it shows if there's still honest people out there. the asset is sent from one place in the city to the other, i think this person just choose the asset they don't know her personally. Nope, the person's job was to walk and drop the wallet while Mike and the crew hide to see what's the people are going to do with it when found. Besides, you can check imbestigador for more infos. i just watch the damn series.

@LetranKnight25: sorry for late reply...haven't been in good shape for the past few days.. Anyway, I wasn't implying that it was a set-up. I was just making sure with it's credibility. My trust with the media wasn't the same as when I was kid.

I guess the credibility of the program will really be tarnished if everything was just staged and outright acted out. Also, I believe that such concerns have already been addressed during the planning of the program. Else, there really is no point in doing the program and setup itself.

Well I'm proud to say that I'm part of the 65 who brings back the wallet. Just recently I happen to be in that situation and a student who I think is bound to go home to the province happens to drop his wallet beside me while trying to get down the bus. I didn't have second thoughts but immediately took it and came after the owner to the point that I have to go down the bus just to give him his wallet. When I came back and took my seat, the man beside me said if it would have been someone else, they wouldn't have bothered returning it. It really gives a good feeling when you do something good. But I also felt embarrass because I made a scene in the bus. I have always been soft spoken and I am not used to talking so loud just to get someone's attention.

Hello sweet_pea, Most of the time, what's the worth of taking that money when it's gonna bother your conscience for the rest of your life. that's something am not willing to risk for. I've always considered having a conscience, at least it makes me human despite of all my mistakes. well, you did it for the right and good reason, i think if the people asked, they would have complimented you for it. have a nice day.

There's nothing to be ashamed of when you are doing the right thing! At least you get to be a good role model for a lot of people to follow! I commend you sweet_pea for doing the right thing! The best part of it is that it is in your instincts to immediately return the wallet and no hesitation took place. Others will hesitate and think first before they will return the wallet which is kind of disturbing still. But anyways, I hope that when I get my wallet lost in some public places, you or the other 65 person will be the one to pick it up and return it to me.

I never got the chance to watch this episode that you are talking about. But I love Imbestigador, really! Well, it's really nice to hear that the 65 individuals were honest. They lift the Filipino's pride. I don't know about that 15, I hate them! They tested only 80 persons? Then about 81.25% of the Filipinos are honest! Still quite a good amount of percentage considering the state of our country with a lot of corruption. And yes, it is a good thing that some kind of news like this are brought up by the media. At least there are some things to cheer about other than watching crimes from here and there. Now we only need to find a solution to fixed those 15 individuals eh?

are you also an Imbestigador fanatic too? i also like to watch Imbestigador too, same as Jessica Soho as a primer hahahaha one thing that i like in Imbestigador is when the interview by the police, they usually deny it, but when about to see their early previous video that they do it, caught on video, the facial expression of the sinner like a blush or what soever... as you might say when you are viewing "GOOD FOR YOU" nyahahahahaha

That's right mantis! I love those exposes about those shameless individuals. I have a penchant to see them get what they deserved and Imbestigador Mike Enriquez serves them well! I really can't believe how such individuals still deny a wrongdoing when all the evidence is clear as sunshine! Tsk,tsk... This kind of programs satisfy my longing for culprits to pay the price of being one.

The news doesn't really reflect the entire Filipino people. There are still good people out there and you'd be surprised how they outnumber the bad ones. You just have to believe in the goodness of mankind and you won't ever be surprised of what we're capable of.

We have a show like that in the United States! Though not nearly as many people are honest. Sometimes they will have a woman leave her kid in a car and see if anyone will confront her. Or they will have a man call a woman all kinds of degrading things to see if anyone will rescue her. Sometimes it's interesting to watch, but mostly it is sad that more people don't take a stand against things that are really wrong in life. By the way... what is a Pinoy? I have heard this term a lot on Mylot and I don't understand what it is. It sounds like it might be a racial term... but I don't get what it could come from or how it came to be. If you don't mind explaining that is.

Hi LK, you know I love the strategy. It may somehow let those who were tempted realize. If they have seen the episode they might be afraid of taking advantage again with fear that there is a camera watching over them. We need a hundred percent.

Hello Letran, In my opinion, Filipinos by nature are really honest and fun loving people. As you have mentioned in that Investigator episode honest outnumbers the dishonest ones.Poverty is one of the factors that made some people do what is against their principles in order to survive.Another one is environment, the place where they were brought up.As the saying goes "tell me who your friends are and I'll tell you who you are." Filipinos are really honest people and some have proven it even in other places. Thanks for sharing this discussion my friend.

Is that a replay? have seen a replay of Imbestigador's episode about Pinoys' honesty and they made an experiment like that. They dropped some wallet in different places with the contact number of the owner. They also featured Batanes and the honesty store there.

Hi Letran! This sounds like a very interesting show. Many still have this 'finders keepers' mentality. We have had shows on TV that show this also. It looks into the character of people. Sometimes even a homeless person will be the most honest and return a lost item.

65 who brought back while... 15 who didn't brought back this serves as a source of evidence or proof therefore.... there are still honest Pinoy's out there.... but if those people who belong to the 15 recovers your lost items, too bad... it's a curse.... i like those 65 hehehehehe i experience this kind of situations too when i was working before... i am not sure, but the store owner is planting you such as money on top of the table, no people around... if there are people will pretend that they don't notice YOU as a subject for tests... i usually don't dare to touch it, the planted money on top of the table, i just leave it and do nothing, planted to test if i am a quality job worker is the first thing that comes unto my mind.... i will let other's to tempted get it and finally the store owner knows who's to trusted and who's not to trusted....
