I can hear someone rehearsing in their house. It sounds like a metal band. The drums and electric guitar. I know a lot of people who can play the guitar but I think drummers are pretty unique. Do you know how to play the drums or know anyone who can? Where did you learn and what interested you into learning?

My son plays the drums and he learned on his own. He and his friends use to rehearse in my house all the time. It was so hilarious to see them rehearse. They held a few events in my garden where loads of contests were ran. Tons of the neighbors and kids use to attend and it was quite fun. He still has his drum set but now that he lives in his own apartment he can't play them as the neighbors in his building will complain. lol I would not be interested in learning myself but do like to hear others play them.

Hi HWG That is so very cool. I always wanted to play the drums but space and noise was always the issue so the guitar was my outlet.

My son also plays the electric guitar also, with the whole bass thing. OMG the noise at first was like something out of this world, but then I thought about them being in my home and not someone else's and felt great about that. They actually became quite good and had a cute lead singer. All went off to college, and play their some, but now all graduated and are in white collar careers living too far from one another.

Knowing how to play an instrument, no matter how noisy is always a good thing when growing up and gives many an outlet. I think many had the dream when they are younger to be the next big thing but it can be hard and then we get older and have responsibilities but still fun to get together and have a jam. I hope your son and his friends get to to the same sometime

I remember when i was in elementary school and they tested us for musical aptitude. I wanted to play drums. Thought they were cool. But come to find out I wasn't rythmically inclined. I was given a Tonette, it was called. Like a little flute. What a gizmo it was. I had it for years. Don't know what ever happened to it.

I know a little, I used to play years ago. I do know a few people that are and were drummers. I know what you mean, it's not the easiest instrument to deal with. My friends brother years ago used to play, and play great. He had a band that played covers of Rush songs, and believe me he played like Neal Pert. I also know Carmine Appice, he used to play with Rod Stewart and the Vanilla Fudge. Drums always interested me.

I always had a huge interest in drums and guitars. I think people look really cool playing them But sadly I know how to play non of them but I do own a guitar and its just sitting there back home on the wall rusting. Anyway I have a friend who plays the drums. He is really good and might be a professional someday. He's been playing drums since we were in grade 7 i think. He is really good at it and knows what he's doing.

My husband has played the drums professionally before. He hasn't played in years, so I've never heard him, but back in the 1960's he played with several bands. At the time he was also working for several radio stations.

I used to want to learn how to play the drums. I thought that girls who play the drums are cool. But soon I realized that I am in love with the keyboards. I know a lot of people who play the drums. Some of hose are good friends of mine.
