I can't believe I'm sick again. Not that I have not been taking vitamins, I have. I guess it's just one of those days when your immune system just bugged down. The other week, I had severe sore eyes, this week I have german measles. I have never been this sick in my life, I mean, having a lot of sickness in just a matter of weeks! I hope the pattern ends because it's taking a huge toll on my finances and my job! Have you ever gotten this 'situation'? How did you deal with it?

usually I pick up a cold from work, give it to my family. I generally don't get it until it's gone through the entire household and everyone is starting to get over it. Then it mutates and starts over again. This time the cold was real bad because I was out of my allergy pills at the same time.

I think is what happened. Either one of my family members picked up sickness from work and since I had a recent infection a few weeks ago, I got it from them but they didn't get it because they were already exposed so their immune system or antibodies have already been accustomed to a lot of the different kinds of diseases in their workplace. Whew!

I am sorry to hear that laydee. It is such a hassle being sick. I can really attest to this being very sickly myself. I have allergies, and stomach ulcers which means I need to watch a lot of what I eat. And as if that wasn't enough, I was recently diagnosed with kidney stones and fatty liver which means I am restricted from more types of food. What is worse is that if I treat my ulcers, my medicine will make me vulnerable to more stones, and some foods which are good for my liver are not friendly for my kidneys. Somrtimes i dunno what to eat anymore. I need to get used to a veggie diet, which, admittedly, I cannot live entirely on.

Bless your heart. I'm sorry you've been sick. I've had a virus for almost a month now, and what remains is a cough. Hope you're better soon.

I'm sorry to hear that you are sick and having sickness within a month. There is really a time when our immune system becomes weak due to some reason, like having bad eating habit, sleeping disorder and being stressed. I am having some allergies since last week and I am having hard time with it since the first cream that I use seems doesn't work good. So i need to changed it again due to prohibited prolong uses of same brand. I need to be careful with health eating habit, this is what my doctor says. And yes, have some vitamins also..esp ascorbic acid which our body cannot produce. have a good day and get well soon

That's just it. I have been watching my diet and have been taking proper vitamins for several months now. Then suddenly disease hits me! I guess this is one of those days when one can't really explain why such things are happening. Thank you for dropping by!

I been sick twice this month already. I don't know why, but it keeps on coming back. I'm taking my vitamins properly and always in time.. Maybe its just the unpredictable weather here in Philippines.. I hate it when I'm sick because I need to skip school and its really hard to catch up in our lessons!! I hope I won't be sick again and you too!

Same here. Perhaps it's really the weather. I am also in the Philippines and I don't like to be absent too because I won't be able to cope with the classes (I am an educator). Anyhow, I hope we'll both get well soon.

I'm sorry that you're undergoing some unhealthy situations right now. I actually don't take vitamins, and there are times that my immune system really goes down. When I get sick, I rest in bed all day. Even if I had to go to school or I had to go to work, I didn't. Because my health was more important, and I couldn't get up anyway. And I try to drink lots of water, even if it tasted so blah when I'm sick. And to lift up my feelings, I watch some comedy flicks. They say laughter is the best medicine, right? :)

just another note I am a diabetic so I live with it lol bu t the good thing is I can control my blood glucose with medication metformin and the proper diet, came from weight gain in my fifties. a word of caution do watch your weight as you approach middle age as t ype two diabetes is mostoften got from being overweight.the fat cells somehow impede the insulin needed to carry glucose into the muscle cells where its needed. so if you keep a a normal weight thats one immune system biggie you can avoid.really just a warning from a mylot friend .nothaving read your profile lately I do not remember your age but wish someone had told me in my forties and fifties not to gain a lot of weight as it might lead to diabetes. also my mom had it and never told me or anyone else.

I am already diabetic, however, I have had a great run with it because I have controlled it well with my metformin and have successfully lost weight. I guess it was just really the severe sore eyes that infected me and rendered my immune system weak when the german measles virus came, I was instantly hit. Whew!

hi laydee wow I remember you had what sounded like pink eye and now german measles. the pinkeye probably weakened your immune system and the when you passed by someone who had the disease you came down with it. rare now days to see people adults I mean come down with German measles as I thought most all children were immunized against that in childhood. You must have missed that injection,. lol lol.Its much tougher on us adults too I am so sorry to hear you picked this up. Somebody who was contagious and should have been home has somehow infected you. Hope you will feel better soon. I can imagine it must be hard missing work but if you went now you would be ensuring that anyone else who had never had it would come down too.I will send some prayers laydee that you recover quickly and can get back to work. surely you have some sick days comingt I do hope.

Perhaps you were right, my immune system was already down because of the pink eye and I got the german measles instantly. It was weird because my mom recalled that I already had the german measles when I was younger (together with my brothers). She also recalls giving us shots. But well, it's not 100% sure. Anyway, I am resting now and trying to have a great time instead here in mylot. I'm just worried about my job and the lag this sicknesses has caused me. Thanks for dropping by! Good health to everyone!

I feel for you laydee. Like you, I am also sick this past few weeks. Well, I believe that my sickness came over when I was exposed to heavy rains. My immune system was weakened more by getting minimal sleep. Hence, the invasion of coughs and colds. Currently I am trying to rest it out and I am also taking vitamin supplements and some medicines. But I guess the best way is to prevent this happening. I should always bring my umbrella and always be cautious of the rain even though it is only light rain.
