1. Sloth(Patrick)
Laziness is something that is considered sinful, including laziness in action. Obviously this is the nature of Patrick. He lived under a rock all the time and never do anything. Even in the episode "Big Pink Loser", he was rewarded for not doing anything at the latest.
2. Wrath(Squidward)
Anger involves feelings of hatred and anger. Squidward hates her life and also hate Sponge Bob, and most of his time was spent to get angry.
3. Greed (Mr. Krabs)
Obviously Mr. Krabs is a figure who is very greedy about money. How could not? he really think that money is everything,
4. Envy (Plankton)
Plankton envious of Mr. The Krusty Krab Krabs as very successful, while The Chum Bucket is a failure. Envy made ??him want to try to steal the Krabby Patty secret formula.
5. Gluttony(Gary)
I really think that this one is pretty funny. Did you ever notice Sponge Bob in which he always says, "do not forget to feed, Gary" or say, "I have to go out for Gary." Gary even ran as Sponge Bob forgot to feed him. usually refers to the excessive greed in terms of eating.
6. Pride(Sandy)
Sandy proud of who he was and where he came from. He was proud of the fact that he was from Texas and happy if everyone knows about it. He is also proud of the fact that he is a mammal and land creatures, such as in the episode "Pressure", where he tries to prove that land creatures are better than sea creatures.
7. Lust(Sponge Bob)
It seems strange and curious at first. Lust in a definition is, "excessive love of others". This is clearly addressed to Sponge Bob. He showed his love to others with a passion for doing good and helping people and passion to his work.
"Those are some definitions of some of the traits of some characters from Sponge Bob that may be included in several major sin, but underneath it all, the cartoons remain funny and as exciting entertainment for all"

I never really watch spongebob. Though if the TV's on and it's spongebob I had a glimpse, but don't intentionally watch it. Good thing my nieces and nephew don't watch that too. I heard a lot of reviews about it, and they're generally saying, it's not a good show for children. And here you are giving us a complete and detailed glimpse of what spongebob squarepants is all about. I guess I have to warm my sister on spongebob, so she won't let her children watch it. Thanks.

I read this once through SMS. I must say that I am a big fan of Spongebob and I have nothing against your post. I watch Spongebob almost eceryday. It's quite actually fantastic how people can have different opinions about everything. As what you have mentioned above, all of them are true. What I love most about Spongebob is him being happy and dedicated to his work in the Krusty Krabs. He lives a simple life with his pet Gary and his bestfriend Patrick. He even loves Squidward and Mr. Krabs despite their weaknesses. I just like his character. Well to each his own. Cheers!

Brilliant observation though thought provoking. But you are right in a sense that some children's shows are really inundated with subliminal messages designed to influence the minds of young children for good or ill, but mostly for ill. There is a hidden agency at work with this kind of agenda in mind. So we need to be careful as to which type of programs we allow our children to be exposed to.
