Some books might be bored, others amusing, interesting...there are so many kind of different books nowadays that it's difficult to decide which one to buy, which one to borrow or which one to read first. I really love reading.
Do you have ever read the same book twice or more times? If so, which one? Or, which one would you read again?

I only buy books that I really enjoy reading and stories that I think is worth the price. I usually buy the classics because it is well appreciated by any generation. I never buy novels because once I read them, I never really would like to read them again.
From my explanation above, the books that I did buy are read more than once and what's great about them is the fact that my family members would also appreciate reading them instead of me and the girls alone. I usually get tips from my brother of what books are good to read and what are worth buying.
Have a great MyLot experience today!

That's a nice experience to have someone with whom you may share the books you like.

That's right, some passages or even the whole book might be difficult to understand.

Yes but it's intensive reading almost like studying literature so my student is having a hard time understanding or reading between the lines.

Reading between the lines is difficult. Of course, it depends of which kind of book you read and the way a person understands the information. But, I love reading between the lines and the only way to reach it is reading the same book several times or, as you said, intensively.

Reading is really a good habit, through reading you built up your mind, vocabulary, knowledge...I also love reading. It's diffcult to read everday, nowadays we are too busy working outside, doing homework, your family and so on. But I will try to get the book you talked about to see whether I can read it too. Thank you.

For fiction book, i never read it twice. This is because i think there are so many books in this world that i haven read yet. For the movie also, i never intend to watch movie for second time. However, for non-fiction book or books that related to natural, travel, science or skills, i always will read again and again.

That's right, not all books can be read more than once and others should be read more than once. Regarding the movies, there are some films I like watching several times as I really love them.

I have re-read the series of books from Tuesdays With Morrie, Five People You Will Meet in Heaven. Also the Dave Peltzer series was worth a second read. I like being able to re-read some books because I discover new things. I also use a lot of the Chicken Soup books for references so I know I use those a lot for work. I would love to say that I let people borrow my books, but I am kinda picky about that. I have loaned out my books in the past and had them end up not being returned, that I hesitate now unless I know they will be returned.

That's right what you say, every time you re-read a book, you'll find something new in. That's one of the reasons why I like to repeat certain books.

I know I did. Not really sure though which books they were. Of course, they could be Stephen King's or Anne Rice's works because they are my favorite authors. I would read another book again if I do get the time, been planning but never got to it.

It's easier to read books during our childhood. Once we get adults, it seems that the time runs away and we don't realize where it went to or when it left. I also love reading, but sometimes I feel too tired to take a book.

It depends on the book. If it is a meaningful or interesting book. I will read it again after some time. As time goes by, I may not remember every details of the book. So I will read it again as well as reading a new book.

Meaningful books even should be read several times as they may teach us many things which we might not understand all of them the first time we read them. I also like those books.

I do not enjoy reading but apparently i am a very good reader due to my lexile tests when i was in high school.I always used to think that reading a book more than once was a waste of time and stupid because you already know what is going to happen at the end and reading 300 pages more than once was boring.Until i read my favorite book of all time called you don't know me by david klass.I believe i have read that book about 7 times.lol It opened my eyes that if you're reading a really good book it is okay to read it more than one time even if you do already know whats going to happen.

To repeat reading a book also depends on the kind of book it is. For example, you right when you say that it might be boring as you already know the history. This I would applicate it on books of mistery, terror, horror.... Otherwise, there are books based on Philosophy, ways of life, self-aid, religion... which we can read and repeat reading very often. The reason why is because every time you read it again, you will find something new, like a new message, which you haven't been able to find the first time or the time before you've read it. Whith each lecture, you may learn something new.

I guess I've read the Harry Potter books more than once. they're like the only books I've actually liked a lot. I got the 3rd book a few summers ago and I just kept reading it over and over again when I was bored. It never gets boring for me... the series is really well written and I read every book except for the last one

Hopefully, you may read the last one too, to complete the whole story. I have only read the first four several years ago and I would like to read them again before carrying on to read the rest of the books.

Of course. If the book is good enough, i'll read it several times over. Not necessarily in a row, but a few years later, like I said - if it's a good enough book, I'll re-read it. And it's always fun reading it a 2nd or 3rd time, it's never boring, but you always notice something new during the times you re-read it, I feel like. I have a few that I love, including "Wasted: A Memoir" by Marya Hornbaucher, "Dry" by Augusten Burroughs, adn a few others that I can't think of on the spot.

The other point is, that it's not the same reading a book at the age of 20, than at 30 or 40...so if you repeat reading several years later, you may understand or see the same history on another way than you did the first time.

Stephen King is a great author, I also like his books. But, the kind of books he writes, there has to pass several years before I could re-read it again. Otherewise, as you already know the story, the mistery and fear will have disapeard.

I do have old favorites I'll read over again. But I try to leave some time in between, some years. I re-read Jane Austen, for example. Those books are classics and I find different nuances in them every time I read them again.
Some books, like murder mysteries, I wouldn't read again because I can remember the outcome. Not so fun to read those over again.

Exactly, some books might be bored, but the interesting and non interesting are depand on the interest of the reader in my view. I read some book twice, honor killing is one which i read twice first.

A book can be bored written by one author, but maybe another author may write the same book but on a very interesting way. It depends not only on the theme and content, but also by the author and the way how it's written.

I have many books by Stephen King and most of my other books are horrors, thrillers and crime. I have that many books that I do read them more then once and it's like reading a new book as it could be 3 years later when I re-read it.
I can't wait till all the Sookie Stackhouse books have been written as when I've read the final one I will read them again from the beginning in order. Although I love Sookie and don't want them to end!

You are right, there are books which are interesting, boring, amusing, etc. I can read a book twice or several times over, it depends on how the book has affected me. For example, I read the Bible daily although I have read it in its entirety already. Then there are those inspirational books which we have that I get to read again when the time comes that I need its inspiration. For instance Rick Warren's The Purpose-Driven Life, one can really appreciate the contents even more after reading it all over again. Then the books of Mitch Albom, two of which are true stories. I love to read true stories again and again. Then if you kinda feel lonely and alone and you feel you need a book but there are no new books around and you can't get one, then you can go back to your books and find that amusing book you can read again. Books that are boring usually do not get your attention again. So there, I believe it all depends on how a book affects, to decide if you decide to read it again or not.

You are right, it depends on the book and how the author prepaired it. But the Bible is one of those books you can read it any time, complete or only a part of it. I also read it already from the beginning to the end and sometimes I go back to special parts to remember. The Holy Scriptures never get oldfashioned.

well as for me, i'm not that fond with reading. when i was a kid, i could never want to hold any kind of books.
but then, even if i am this kind of a person, i still read. sometimes.
and i have never read the books twice. even if it is interesting like the story hangs on my head in weeks, i could never read the same book again.

Maybe it's because you still haven't found your style. There are so many different kind of books to cover plenty of different interests. Reading is a nice experience which can be shared with other readers who read the same history as you.

I only read books that are really excellent more than once. I have read the Harry potter series about 3 times for each book - I just love the magic and the mystery of them! I have also read the Horse Whisperer a few times, because I really love that book. Otherwise, I love getting second hand books from the second hand shop next door to me - it is so much cheaper than buying new books and once you have read them you can take them back and exchange them for another book, kind of like a library!

Those libraries based on second hand books exchange are a really great idea. I also had one near and I used it too. But they had to move so at the moment there is no chance to do it any more as there isn't another one near. Otherwise I would still use it.
It seems like Harry Potter is one of those books which most people would repeat reading. Do you think that it could be considered like a virus?
