I went to a movie store yesterday together with my boyfriend. Upon looking at the CD's we saw that question at the back of one of the CD's. We argued about it since he said that it really happens in real life and I don't think if it does. I insisted that it only happens in movies. He said that there are really persons who sell their souls to the demon in exchange for fame, wealth or whatever.
How about you mylotters? Do you think that it really happens in real life? :)

I have heard of this too. People selling their souls to the devil for fame and fortunes but I don't know how exactly it works.
Well as for me, I wouldn't wanna sell my soul. I mean I may have a really comfortable life if I do but who knows what I have to do for it. Goshh and just the word "devil" scares me, I wouldn't want my soul to be held captive of someone I fear.
I think it's best to work hard and earn. At least that's yours and you earned it fair and square.

Yes, as I've seen in movies.. Hehehe.. I don't know if it really happens in real life. I mean, you know.. It's just in movies and the stories in movies are just products of a persons imagination.
As what I've seen.. They are cults and they do this kind of rituals. Have you seen the movie Jennifer's body? I think, it's demonstrated in that movie also. :)

How can you sell a soul when it is intangible? There is no visible existence of it.
What "soul" is that what you mean? Maybe you can elaborate what "soul" is that, because it really is so broad to define what is it. It isn't even a matter after all, it is just philosophical.
What you mean is like, a woman prost itute who sells her body? Is that what exactly you mean?

Hmmm.. I'm sorry I forgot the title of the movie. Don't worry, I'll go back to the movie store and look for it again.
I've seen it in movies, it's like cults. They do some rituals, offer something or the worst, someone in exchange for wealth or fame. Have you seen the movie, drive angry? It was starred by Nicholas Cage. I think, soul selling to the demon will be watched in that movie. :)

I don't think it happens in real life and if it does happen, I wouldn't sell mine for any amount of money. I'll just live my life and let my soul remain as God's.

what movie is this jdex? can you share the title?
we had an argument in the office before about movies that are related to real life. there is a big difference when a movie is "based on real life" vs "true to life"...
personally, i don't think the devil goes around the planet looking for persons who are willing to sell their souls. my religious views dictate that our souls belong to our Creator. so who are we to sell them to anyone, least of all the devil itself?
and if ever, what shall you do with too much money or fame if your soul doesn't belong to you anymore? it doesn't make good sense to me. this events are just product of some wild imagination. these plots are used by scriptwriters because it really looks interesting enough.

I think that people to give up important things for money and in that way they do 'sell their souls'. Yes, I really do think it happens in real life! People who feel they have high idols and virtue let them go by the way side to get money from all manner of things. It is said how important things and money have become.

As for me, I will never sell my soul in exchange for material wealth or even fame...it's futile living a life knowing that I'll be eternally living in hell. I'd better live life here on earth with Jesus, knowing that there's a lot of things in store for me in Heaven. I think, this happens in real life, some hollywood artists sold their soul in exchange for fame.

i think it depends on what my soul will be used to do.
besides, I believe some people do not have souls, or they have already sold their souls for whatever they need.
as for me, it may happen that I exchange my soul for something I really need.
It's still the old answer:" It depends."

Why don't you tell your boyfriend to try it just to prove that he's right or why don't you try it to prove him wrong?
Actually it's not that I believe or don't believe it could happen in real life but I don't want anything that has something to do with the devil or would test my faith. So I just dont question the possibility of it becoming real. Sometimes when we question something too ,uch in our minds and thinking about it seriously van lead to unexplainable things. I don't want to be tested like that. Probably your boyfriend is right and maybe you are too.

I will never sell my soul to demons because only God owns my soul. That is why doing bad things here on earth is just like selling your own soul to demons so as long as we are alive we should do things in the right way so that God will own us.

Every thing's possible nowadays. I'm never really surprised of such things. There are plenty of people even known personalities that have done this kind of thing. They exchange their own soul to some organizations related to the demons in order to get fame and riches. Try to search the internet more for details.

Like what rapnroll said, many are really selling their souls for much less today. I'm no saint, and I could probably be one of them already. Money is really a great necessity now and people will go through great extents to produce and/or acquire them. Literally, though, if offered a billion dollars in exchange for your soul, that's one heck of a temptation to resist, I would probably be thinking about it. This reminds me of the movie "Bedazzled". Throw in the hot chick demon and the deal gets closed.

I do think that he does raise a point. I do think that a lot of people would sell their souls for fame, wealth, or whatever else. I don't think that everyone is like this, but I certainly do believe that there are people who certainly would do this at whatever cost. However, I personally don't think that I'm one of them. I don't think that I could.

No. I believe that we only have borrowed times here on earth. so, we have a life full of trials and in the end we'll all be judge on what we did throughout our life so, I value my soul, body and life. I respect myself that much and if I'll be tempted to sell my soul I don't think I'll be able to do that. that would be like discarding all the values that my parents have taught me.
and selling your soul..there must be something bad that you have to do..so, no. never!

You can get everything you want in life without selling your soul to the devil. Haven't you watched the secret?
I don't really believe in Satan or selling my soul. In fact I don't even think I have a soul. Maybe there's a way to sell your soul but it only works if you believe in it.
