Why people don't buy nacional products? :S

Hi! I don't understand, in Portugal (where i live), nobody buys nacional products that are better than the others... :S how can it be possible? We should support our companies and we (consumers)just buy foreign products... its a shame! I reed an article that said: "If each portuguese spent 200euros in nacional products each month, Portugal wouldn't be in this situation that faces now...". What is your opinion? Am I right? Shouldn't we buy more nacional products? Do you buy your country's products?
