irresponsible advertising of incontinence products

this is something that's really annoyed me lately.
adverts for incontinence products that make out that it's perfectly normal to wet yourself when you laugh or sneeze. the Tena lady adverts are particularly bad.
"go on. LAUGH!"
Oh really, are you sure I should, after all, I am a woman and likely to pee myself after all.
yes, these adverts suggest that it's perfectly normal and to be expected that if you are a woman, you will start to lose control of your bodily functions.
I DO think that this is very irresponsible, and gives off a very bad signal to young women viewing the adverts. they may come to think that incontinence is as normal as periods.
surely they should HAVE to have a disclaimer at the bottom, saying that if you experience incontinence then you should see your GP to find out WHY you're wetting yourself.
because lets face it, being a woman isn't a reason to wet yourself. if you are, there is a medical reason, and in very many cases, something can be done about it. ignoring it could allow a problem to go undiagnosed and get worse.
so if you have a problem the first thing you do should be to make an appointment with your doctor, not just shrug, and put some pads in the trolley next time you go shopping.
but then I suppose, as they sell these products, they would rather that people just go on wetting themselves and assume that it's normal, rather than get to the bottom of the problem and get back to normal.
if you're not elderly and you're wetting yourself, there's an underlying problem.

I think I like Whoopi's commercial about incontinence best of any of them. Very low key. Little cuteness that is all her own. Makes a person feel okay with it instead of making it a real problem area. I see my doctor about every three to six months anyway for meds update so it isn't a problem.
