There are plug-in gnat killers commercially available that work pretty well. Turning off the lights won't always work, since they're attracted to body heat, I believe (the lights thing is mostly for moths who think the light is the moon and try to use it to navigate).
Alternatively, swat them all.

Take the light bulb out and they will go away. It is normally outside the house where they come.

They're Gnats, not Nates lol. I am not sure how to kill them, but I believe they are attracted to the light and eventually die from the light, but I am not quite sure. Here is a link on how to kill the gnats, hope this helps! They are very pesky things1
